I get panic attacks when I'm the center of attention. I hatewhen people focus all of their attention on me (like at my wedding). I get major panic attacks! That's why I hate public speaking.

Ugh. Sometimes nothing! But most often, being the center of attention, like public speaking, or just being up in front of people while they're looking at me. I am sooooo nervous about this for my wedding.
Also, illness-related things.

Yep, me too. I am a teacher, so talking a class full of kids or even their parents doesn't bother me. However, a room full of adults gets me everytime. I'm with you about the wedding. I had to take a Xanax to get down the aisle because I was so nervous.

@IRunForFun: I literally had to drink some wine to make me calm down at my wedding. Does alcohol relieve some of your anxiety? It definitely helps me! lol

@lilteacherbee: OMG even speaking in front of kids makes me anxious! Well, I don't know about littles like under age 5. But older elementary kids count as adults to me!

@banana: Yes, I will definitely be having a glass of wine in hopes that it will help! I considered getting some Xanax or something, but then I wouldn't be able to drink during my reception at all, so...I just hope I make it through without passing out!

@IRunForFun: Yes, wine just to take the edge off! I was considering taking some meds too but I wanted to drink. hehe The worse part was walking down the aisle though. I only drank wine at the reception so it wasn't too bad. But the aisle was hard. That's why I made sure our ceremony was done quickly. I didn't want to stand up there any longer than I had to. The reception was fun though because you don't have as much attention on you.

@banana: Exactly, I know I will be fine at the reception, but walking down the aisle and standing up in front of people will be really hard. We're having a short ceremony, and I'll have a chair discreetly placed nearby in case I feel the need to sit. It helps that my BIL is our officiant and my bridesmaids all know I have panic attacks, so if I start to freak out, we can play it off. Hopefully.

I don't think I have any severe panic attacks, but things that give me anxiety have a lot to do with behaviour. If I think someone is going to react poorly to a situation that is out of my control I get anxious. If that makes sense...

@.twist.: That makes sense. The last time I got a major panic attack was when I had to tell a friend of mine that a bunch of us saw her boyfriend with another woman. That one gave me maaaajor panic attacks.
