DH and I love red cedar mulch! It worked great in our old home because we had white vinyl siding. But in our current home I'm not sure it would work. I'm thinking a black mulch might look nicer.
What do you think? What color mulch do you have in your yard?

Look into the black mulch before buying. I had a landscaper recently tell me that the chemical content is heavy. I didn't do my own research though, so I could be wrong.

@Thenetexan: oh, interesting. Thanks for the heads up! My ILs used to get black mulch from the town. But it's the shredded kind; the town takes old yard debris and grounds it up and sells it cheap back to residents as mulch. I'm hoping they still do this because it was cheap!

Pine bark is my preferred mulch! I just think it looks the best. And it would be darker than the red cedar.
