My 12-week old is usually a pretty good sleeper. I have her on a great nap schedule, and she usually only wakes up once, sometimes twice in the nighttime. Well, yesterday and last night were a completely different story.

She usually doesn't fall asleep in my arms. When she is tired, I set her down in her crib and she falls right asleep. However, yesterday she wanted nothing to do with her crib. She would scream and yelp until her voice started cracking, so I would pick her up, but she wouldn't be much happier. She was so sad and fussy the entire day, which is completely out of character for her. She kept bobbing her head around and chewing on her hands....she would even shove her whole fist in her mouth until she started gagging. By 9:00 (an hour and a half past her bedtime), she had been up for 6 hours straight without sleeping.

I finally got her down for bed at 10:30, but she only slept for 45 minutes. When she woke up, she was yelping and screaming and bobbing her head around violently. She was so wiggly in my arms I could hardly hold her! She started sucking on my chest, shoulder, and arms, even though I had fed her less than an hour ago!

After this, I couldn't put her back down in her crib. I ended up letting her sleep on my chest on the couch, but this only lasted for 2 hours. She woke up screaming, and this time she was bobbing her head so violently that she bonked my nose and made it bleed!

I tried everything I could think of throughout the entire night, but nothing made her happy. She was just a drooly, screaming, violent head bobbing mess. She probably got 6 hours of sleep throughout the night.

Could this mean she is cutting a tooth? She has had two little white dots on her gums (teeth) for a couple weeks, but they haven't seem to affect her at all.

I don't know if I should call my doctor or not... I have just never seen her be like this. Help Hive!
