My formative years were in the mid 80s to mid 90s... I thought the 90s were pretty lame at the time, but now I have a newfound appreciation for them!

I was a child in the 90's and a teen in the 2000's (00's?? lol).
My childhood was pretty average, I played with barbies far longer than probably healthy.

80's child and 90's teen here. I am pretty nostalgic about my childhood. It seems so much more organic than childhood today.

@.twist.: Ooh, I did, too! I'm sure when other girls were kissing their hands pretending it was Take That, I was playing with my Barbies! Actually, I'm hoping to have a little girl so I can get back into it!!

@Cherrybee: haha yep! I made my barbies (and ken) kiss instead of worrying about real boys! LOL. I actually look back at that and laugh at how warped my thoughts of birth were. Did you ever have friends who didn't "know" how to play barbies? I had a few friends that, I thought, just played barbies wrong.

@.twist.: I was virtually attached to my best friend back then - still am, actually - and we played Barbies together. I never even tried to pay with anyone else - it would have been like cheating on her!!! Did you used to put tissue up Barbie's clothes and pretend she was pregnant?! I did!

I am an 80s child with my teens in the 90s. I totally agree with you, @rahlyrah, i find that it just isnt the same these days.
I love the music of the 80s and 90s...a lot of stuff these days is so meh.

@Cherrybee: hahaha omg yes, that and other pieces of barbie clothes! Barbie never knew when she was going to have a baby, and it would coincidentally happen when no one else was home and she'd fall on the floor and need to crawl to call the ambulance. What a warped child I was!
