I hate listening to my baby cry. Trying to find things to get my mind off it. What did you do to pass time?

Watch tv. It doesn't faze me that much anymore because they cry such a short time now. They know the deal.

So hard, right? I used to run down the stairs so quick so I wouldn't hear him haha
Anyways--LO doesn't cry anymore and when he did it was short...so I was able to shower or something. In fact, I would plan things during his CIO...take out the trash, run on the treadmill, shower....
Do you do extinction or internal visits?
For us we visited him every 10 mins...so I would do something for 10 mins and then when I'd go in, he would calm down immediately and usually the next time I was scheduled to go in, he'd be asleep. -
Dh bought me noise canceling headphones. I plan on using them when we start to sleep train her

I cooked dinner and just told myself to trust our doctor, and tried to remember all the conversations I had with my mommy friends who had done CIO and said their babies were so much happier and well rested. It's hard though! Good luck!

@TurtleDoves: I plan on doing the checks every 15 minutes if he gets too worked up. If he seems to be calming down I won't go in.
This is the first night and he cried for 20 minutes! Much better than I thought. I just worry about how he will do during middle of the night wake ups.

My mom said she used to take a shower when she did CIO with me.
