I am wondering what I should dress my LO in while he still has his cord stump. Gowns? Kimono tops?

I dressed her in onesies, gowns and side snap shirts. I avoided pants until the stump fell off!

Our LO wore these for the first month or so as an August baby with a diaper.

It was fall so she wore a onsie with a sleeper over it all the time.

Honestly, I dressed him normally (though he never wore anything super snug as a newborn anyways). It didn't seem to bother him (or the cord stump) a bit.

Everything! He was mostly in onesies with light cotton sleepers, but his coming home outfit was pants and a onesie.

onesies & sleepers -- no pants... i bought some of those side snap shirts and never used them once.

I used onesies, but her's fell off pretty quickly, so I didn't have to worry about it for too long

Onesies and sleepers. We put pants on her, as well. Her stump took forever to fall off!!

Did any of you CD before the stump fell off? I'm thinking we'll probably put him in disposables til its gone.

@Arden: Is there a particular kind you'd recommend for newborns? I'd rather CD from the get-go

@grizz: We love the Lil'Joeys. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004CSJK52/ref=twister_B004CSLFA0?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They have a snap down for the cord, and we have had no leaks with them. I really like them, and I'm going to be sad when she outgrows them. We will most certainly be keeping the Lil'Joey's for baby #2!
We also used GroVia newborn AIO's, they did fit below the cord but cut it a little closer.
The BG newborns did not work at all before the stump came off (they were way too high) and now that her stump is gone, they leak. I don't think they are meant for heavy wetters.

Kimonos(FTW!) and diapers . . . it was September in the South, and it was h.o.t. hot! LO's cord did not fall off for 3 weeks!

Footed sleepers, gowns, and onesies. We did have a little issue with the gowns riding up and irritating the stump a bit. I preferred the sleepers until the stump fell off.
