The set of golf clubs he wanted...I also got him a grill (like a really nice Weber grill) for our anniversary and both of those gifts were huge hits! Good luck!!!

I'm no help - our birthdays are only 3 days apart and just before Xmas so we decided to never do gifts and instead go out for a nice dinner together.

His 30th birthday was only 4 weeks after the Trikester was born (and just a week before Christmas). I know he would have looooved a surprise party, but it just wasn't practical. So instead I got him 24 presents, one to open on each hour of his birthday. Some were tiny (a fancy candy bar), and some were big - new snowboarding goggles and a Leatherman tool. Overall, it was a big hit. I also arranged for him to have a guys' night with his ten of his friends. I paid for them to go to an indoor high speed go-cart track, and then bought the first round of drinks when they went to a brew pub afterwards.

We didn't do much since LO was born exactly a week before.

I made a donation to NPR on his behalf (something he'd requested a while ago) and got him a new pair of cargo pants and a shirt.

@Mrs. Tricycle: what a lovely idea! I've been racking my brain this year because its the big 30 and its 2 days after LO was born.

Our bday's are a week apart and we are buying a house between them, so a house. But I did get a little something as well this year, a pair of sunglasses for running.

My husband doesn't like gifts! He likes a good dinner (rack of lamb) & some good...you know what;)
But I will always be a saint to him that week & if I knew he wanted something specific, I'd get it, even if he won't use it for awhile. He will be glad to have it come fall;)
