We had family dinners together for a while growing up, until everything got hectic and it all fell apart. We would just talk about what we did that day. I would try and let other people talk while I ate as fast as I could, so I could hit up the leftovers before we ran out of food.

Mostly just how our days went and what we did. And make plans for whatever was going on the next day. My parents were big on family dinner and I intend to be as well. Even if you just talk about mundane things it keeps the family connected.

we were HUGE on eating together every.single.day. when my dad came home from work and we would catch up on everything....but ONLY after my dad went from kid to kid figuring out what was going on with their schooling and if we were listening to my mom's orders....so, sometimes we'd get lectured before we could get into the casual chats:)

Hmm... I think we just talked about our days or what was going on in the world or what was on TV. The same kinds of stuff we talk about now. But we ALWAYS ate dinner together, and that's something I want to make sure Hubs and I do with our kids.

We had dinner every single day around the kitchen table. mostly talked about our days with the occasional fight breaking out 
I want to make sure we do this with our kids... my husband and his family ate infront of the TV and I don't like that!

We just discussed that day's happenings and if a vacation/ school field trip was coming up, we'd discuss what we would be doing, when we needed to pack, etc.

We always had to go around the table and each tell about our days...even now if we all end up together for dinner it's always, "OK, who wants to go first?!"
