Sadly, I'm not allowed to do anything to extend my leave, other than just quit outright. I asked about going longer unpaid and was told no.

I had no paid leave, since i was not eligible for STD at my company due to a pre-existing condition. I was required to use all of my accrued vacation and sick time while gone on family medical leave. I had enough leave saved up to take off 8 weeks, I returned to work after that was gone.

I didn't have an option to extend my leave past 12 weeks. 6 weeks of leave was covered by my STD policy and I used PTO for a second 6 weeks.

6 weeks paid maternity
2 weeks paid STD
5 weeks saved PTO/Sick/Vacation
4 weeks unpaid FMLA

FMLA runs concurrently with any program the company offers like STD and PTO. Since we can't roll over more than 144 hours each year, everyone always runs out of paid leave before FMLA is up so we can't really extend it beyond that.

I took 12 weeks using FMLA. 1st 8 weeks paid 100% using STD, then two weeks vacation time, then two weeks unpaid.

I took 12 weeks under FMLA, 10 paid by my company and 2 unpaid. I used 2 weeks PTO after that for 14 weeks total.

I had STD for 6 weeks (stupid insurance company only does 6, even with c-section) and then PTO (all our time off is lumped as PTO) for 4 weeks and 2 weeks of part time.

I took 12 weeks under FMLA - could not extend it.

6 weeks were paid by my sick time/STD
5.8 weeks were paid by my vacation/holiday/excused time
0.2 weeks were unpaid

I had 12 weeks unpaid under FMLA and added on 2 more weeks using PTO (ours is basically sick + vacation combined). So I arranged for 14 weeks total: 2 weeks paid, 6 weeks STD (60% salary), and 6 weeks unpaid.

Teacher here:
--6 week disability (doesn't really matter because I am giving birth over summer)
-- Use up sick leave (I only have three weeks)
-- 12 week differential (I get paid my salary minus the cost of the sub.)
-- 12 week FMLA (unpaid of course)

I'm offered 12 weeks unpaid through FMLA, this is what i'm taking, I can't extend it (we have to use all PTO in conjunction with FMLA.) When I return I will have no paid time off available until I renew on my anniversary date.

12 weeks paid maternity leave separate and apart from FMLA and STD although they all ran concurrently. STD paid me and then my company paid the difference for the full 12 weeks of maternity leave since I qualify for 100% paid STD. After 12 weeks paid maternity leave, I took 1 week unpaid leave through FMLA, and then 1 week paid vacation time for a total of 14 weeks off.

FWIW, my LO was born early June and I came back to work mid September. I used paid sick days prior to my leave + intermittent FMLA so I wouldn't have to touch my vacation days. That left me with an additional 3 weeks of vacation days to use for the remainder of the year just in case + I can roll over up to 10 unused vacation days which was my goal.

I had no paid leave, just had to use my sick days and take the rest unpaid. I did have short-term disability so it covered a little bit. There was no option to extend other than quitting. However a week after I returned was summer break (teacher)so essentially, timing extended it for me.

Well... I was supposed to gO back yesterday but i got laid off today

I will have about 12 weeks paid with disability and vacation time and the final month will be unpaid.
