@pinkcupcake: I wanted to be either a teacher, florist, grocery store bagger, author who lived in Paris, or ballerina.
I work at a college now. Wish I had pursued the Paris route a little more!

I wanted to do research where I could wear jeans everyday (I'm not a fan of dressing up). I ended up doing research administration where until recently I could wear jeans everyday (they merged our office with the clinic space so now we have to dress business casual).

I was an ambitious child and had big plans for my mer-life. I wanted to be a mermaid.
Unfortunately for me, that didn't pan out well, and now I'm a land administrator for an oil and gas company. Womp womp.

I wanted to be a ballerina at first. I danced for 20 years and auditioned for professional companies but "had the wrong body type" (aka I was never going to be thin enough and my legs were too short). Then it was a marine biologist. Then, a kindergarten teacher.
I became a speech language pathologist.

Grade 2- stripper (I thought they danced all day…I didn't understand what they wore. Teacher was horrified, mother was mortified. LOL!). Then Grade 2-Grade 6 I wanted to be a psychologist. I finally decided at at age 12 to be a lawyer, and now I am (I'm pretty sure my mother is thankful).
Not sure what DH had dreams of, but I know he sort of wound his way through his college degree. I see him going back to work with kids in a counseling capacity or something of that nature.

I wanted to be a neurosurgeon or a teacher. I became a social worker for a number of years before becoming a middle school teacher, so I sort of followed my dreams. Now I'm a SAHM, which is something I always planned on doing until the kids went off to school.
DH can't remember what he wanted to be other than a Porsche driver. He's now a civil engineer and has never sat behind the wheel (or any other place!) in a Porsche.
