DD's hair is wavy but the top is much longer than the sides so it looks crazy. We usually pull it to the side w/ a clip and it looks ok, but she pulls it out. If I don't do anything with it, she's always mistaken for a boy (even if she's wearing pink!). I feel like we need to do something with it.... But what?
ETA: I can't even think about putting a ponytail or pigtails (even though it looks adorable!) because she won't sit still ling enough or pulls them out immediately

What about doing one of those cute whale spout pony tails on the top of her head?? If you use the little clear plastic bands (I think they are made by Goody @ target) she might have a harder time pulling it out.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: @CottonCandy: I updated my post. She is terrible at staying still and she'll pull it out as soon as she gets a chance. How do you get them used to it???

@BabyBoecksMom: Chloe always pulls out bows or clips, but for some reason leaves in the goody brand hair ties. They're clear and small, and elastic. I have no idea what the difference is, but she leaves them in without a fuss!

@babyboecksmom: can you try to do it when she is distracted? Like, sneak up behind her and do it when dh is putting on her shoes, or give her a mum mum to nibble on while you sneak attack her hair?? lol...Its crazy how we parents have to plan such things!

How old is she? We do the pebbles ponytail or sometimes pigtails. She does pull on it but not constantly. We've been doing it for about 8 months and it's gotten easier. Now I give her something to hold (comb, bow, book, etc). She will come and sit in my lap when I tell her I need to do her hair. We started when LO was about 1.

Can you part it and brush it to the side? I've been doing that to LO since she was born, and now it naturally does it and stays that way (or will go right back if I just run my hand across her head and guide the hair

I vote keep it clipped back or in a pony because I cut bangs for my older daughter and now her hair is curly and we have a heck of a time trying to do something with them now that we are trying to grow them out because bangs plus curly hair equal frizzy uncontrollable mess when it comes to my lo.

Haha, Olivia has similar hair! I just let it run wild but it's starting to develop a total wave to it, so I'm not sure what I'll do when she's older. I keep hoping the rest will start growing sometime soon.

@highwire: We usually brush it to the side, but by the end of the day, it looks like the picture above. Just looks so... ragged?
I guess we'll keep clipping it and hope the hair on the side of her head grows in soon.

I left my daughter's hair alone until just a couple weeks ago. She does not want anything in her hair either. In fact, she doesn't even let me put MY hair in a ponytail. Her hair was opposite of your LO's. She had hair on the sides but not much on top.

LO also pulls out anything we put in her hair. I end up just pushing the hair out of her eyes all day. Sometimes I can put a clip in her hair without her noticing. I think I might have to break down and just trim the front and give her bangs.
