I've never been to a tree trimming party. Wondering what you would bring. Should i bring anything for the tree or the hostess?

You could ask the host/hostess if you could also bring an app or dessert.

I've hosted them before and asked people to bring either an ornament or a drink to share... I don't think you could go wrong with either (or both!)

I'd bring a cranberry and popcorn garland, so I could eat half of it on the ride over.
But, in all seriousness - an ornament, a bottle of wine, a plate of gingerbread?

I helped a friend decorate a tree the other night, and it was fun! We used all of her things (no presents--just a time to hang out). I took stuff to make hot chocolate.
