I call them a pacifiers. My mom calls it a binky. I've heard it referred to as a mute button. What do you call it?

@HabesBabe: I'm not a fan of binky either and I rarely shorten pacifier to paci. I find it funny that LO will open his mouth when I ask if he wants his pacifier.

I've heard "muzzle" by a person who was anti-pacifier but we call it either a paci or pacifier.

Pacifier...but I'm not a mom with a kid that loved one of these, so maybe if it were used more on a regular basis in my house, another name would've been adopted.
My mom used to call it the "plug" lol

@NaturallyCathy: Ive never heard that before, but that is seriously hilarious! I have to tell DH that one!

I call it a paci, but DH calls it a soothie since we use the Avent Soothies. Binky bothers me too...makes me think of a Southern trophy wife off of a bad sitcom.

@MrsBrewer: @sylvie_b: I'm glad I could share something funny And I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that was possibly one of the greatest names for it.\
Sometimes when DH gives Henry his pacifier, he goes, "AAaaaaand... Mute." It cracks me up every time.

I've called it a mute button, but most of the time it's a pacifier.

@MaisyMay: I would have never made that connection with the binky but now that I think about it, that makes since. And it's funny to boot!

I called it a nook when I was little! Not sure what we'll call it for our LO.

@LindsayInNYC: Kudos for being able to remember what you called it - I have no idea what I called it, if I called it anything. The only memory I have of baby stuff is me asking my mom at about age two why she was getting rid of my bottles.

@LindsayInNYC: the hubs' parents call it that, too, because the brand they used was Nuk!

@NaturallyCathy: I am occassionally clever before 8 a.m., but not usually. lol

Our LO has started calling them something along the lines of "Bai Bac" I have NO IDEA what she is saying. It sounds more like "Ba Ba" (bottle) than anything else. It doesn't sound anywhere near paci, pacifier, or binky.

Leaving the zombie mommy of a newborn stage? Nice to see your jokes again!

@lemondrop: Probably! I'm getting ready to go back to work and have been getting more sleep since LO dropped one of her night feeds. Sunny days are back.

DS calls is "bah-ka bah-ak" he doesn't use it, and hasn't since 4 months but there's a teether that looks like one (made by Sophie brand) and he thinks it's hilarious to stuff in my mouth.

Pacifier in our house. I've heard other cute nicknames for them but can't think of any now.
