Used to call them "doll noodles" in chinese because "doll" was the brand. Now I call them ramen or just instant noodles.

General term for any soup like that for me is Ramen (and a Japanese word, so by the way you've typed it, it's correct pronunciation).
If I'm actually serving it at home, and was like, asking my husband if he wanted it for lunch, I usually say the actual brand, like "Mr. Noodles" or "Ichiban"

Top Ramen. And we call the kind you keep in the fridge or buy at a Japanese restaurant (with green onions, pork, whatever) ramen.

Growing up I called (literally) "no nutrition noodles" in Cantonese. Now I call it instant noodles if I'm referring to it in English.

Top Ramen. Now I'm wondering where the "top" part came from lol.

@Boogs: Top Ramen is a brand of Ramen. Just like Ichiban (which translates literally to "Number One" or "The best"). Seems to be a bit of a theme with the Ramen brand naming!

I called them oodles of noodles growing up, and ramen noodles now.

Rah-men. When I was little I didn't like the spice pack or wet noodles. So my grandma would make the noodles and add parmesean cheese in them. A friend from school would bringnthe uncooked noodles innher lunch and eat them crispy.

Rah-men. But here people call it Maruchan and it's strangely hugely popular in Mexico. They call cup o'noodles Maruchan too. (Sopa Maruchan!)
Now I'm hungry.

Now they're ramen!

Over here, they would be Super Noodles! Super Noodles is a brand name but it's one of those brand names, like Hoover or band-aid, that have come to mean the actual thing and not just a specific product.

Saimin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saimin
But then usually with a qualifier since it is not the authentic one.
Example: I am hungry for saimin. DH: We have some in the pantry. Me: No, I want the real kind.

@MrsB2012: @delight: same - Mr Noodles (must be a canadian thing)
Crushing them up and eating them uncooked was totally the cool thing to do on my elementary school playground (so gross!!!) I don't know if I've ever eaten them cooked lol
