@char54: eww that was the cool thing for us too! I can't believe we used to do that. When I was pregnant, I went through a short faze of loving the ichiban noodles cooked.

Sen-Li-mian (mandarin) growing up, and these days I would call that particular item maruchan and all generic instant noodle like that I call ramen.

ramen. I haven't had the instant kind in years though--probably not since middle school! we have a "real" ramen restaurant around the corner from us though, and omg it's good!

Another Canadian that used to call them Mr. Noodles until I was an adult and started calling them Ramen. And yes, we uses to crush them up and eat them raw too. Yegch!

@BoogieBea: I was trying to think of what we called these noodles as kids and couldn't remember until I saw your post...doll noodles!
I honestly haven't touched them in at least 10 years but I would probably call them ramen now (and strangely enough I wAs craving them last night before even seeing this thread).
