LO is teething. I'm giving her Humphries, teethers, etc. but nothing seems to make her happy. She's such a cranky pants! Right now she's in her jumper and seems pretty happy, every once in a while she'll let out an, "I'm frusterated!" noise though. What do you do with your LO when nothing seems to make them happy?

going outside helps a lot. now that charlie is older, anything sensory really distracts and engages him -- art, sensory box, etc.

Try to put her down for a nap. Otherwise going outside or finding something for her to bang on usually helps.

when all else fails we go outside.

Something different from whatever she was doing. If she was playing with her kitchen then let's go drive her Little Tikes Coupe or art with markers or crayons. I break out the paint for something really different! We always bring her outside to burn off excess energy.

I suffer until it's nap time. Or, I'll lay her down on the ground and I'll let her kick and scream (literally!) for a few minutes. Sometimes it helps when I don't try to stop the crankiness and just let her BE cranky.

I'm dealing with this right now with the baby I nanny. He is almost 5 months old and is teething up a storm! His normal 2 hour naps have turned into 30-45 naps, which makes him a cranky little dude. I'm finding that the less I stimulate him, the better off he is. He can still have his normal playtimes (tummy time, play mat time, learning how to roll over, etc), but I am taking a step back on days like today.

We go outside too. Usually nips it in the bud.

Change of scenery, if possible. Sometimes I'll wear him around the house in the Bjorn. If he's tired but refusing to nap, that's when we go for a drive. Works every time.

Yup, I open the balcony door and he stops crying and whining instantly.

@Maysprout: It's not that she's tired, she wakes up from naps cranky
@Andrea: I tried a walk outside. It did help for a bit, but it's just so hard to walk LO in the stroller with my dog. And I can't leave him at home when we're going on a walk, that's just mean.
@Mrs. Yoyo: I would love to take a drive! But hubby brought our car in to the shop so I'm carless today
I think it makes it even worse knowing I'm stuck in the house and have no choice about it.

@Andrea: She's too heavy on my shoulders, bad for my migraines. Kinda pissed that I spent so much money on my bjorn that we've used maybe 3 times!

@artbee: Boo. I hate that I've come to rely on it, but sometimes he really needs a catnap late in the afternoon in order to not be overtired at bedtime, but he often fights it if I put him down like normal.

Once in awhile I show her kiddy music videos on youtube like songs from the lion king or aladdin or animated versions of classic songs.

My LO loves going out so I'll take her on an outing when she's cranks. If I don't feel like going out I'll stick her in the ergo and carry her around while I do chores.

I sing (and dance) and go and look at the cute baby in the bedroom mirror!

We are dealing with the same thing. Right now a change of scenery is about the best thing. That and a wet washcloth to let her play with.

We are going through this right now. LO is working on at least his 9th tooth, but it looks like there are 3 different ones coming in.
He's been such a cranky pants and I'm soooo exhausted from it. Sometimes going outside helps, but that's about it. Otherwise, it's just long days of whining and climbing all over us, unfortunately.

Have you looked into a Baltic amber teething necklace? I swear by ours! DS wears it as an anklet and if that thing is not on his body, he is a bear! After it's return he calms down. I didn't even realize he was cutting some of his teeth until I looked.
I try to stay calm as much as possible. It's usually just me with him so their is no real leaving the situation most of the time.

We go for a bike ride or to the park. But if she's really miserable, I'll give her some ibuprofen (tylenol if < 6mos) to ease the pain.
