We have a bunch of LOs paintings and drawings he used to bring backfrom daycare that's just sitting around. Our neighbors gave LO a gift recently that was wrapped with one of her daughter's paintings. I thought it was a great idea and started doing that with my lo's art as well. One if a kind wrapping paper.

My lo doesn't have artwork yet. But I am planning to scan a lot of it into the computer and make photo books, only keeping really special pieces.

She doesn't have much art yet. But my plan is to photograph it and make picture books out of it so I can keep it all without actually keeping it all.
I do love the idea of using it as wrapping paper, especially for family and grandparents gifts!

LO isn't here yet much less making art, but I love the idea of scanning them into photo books or making photo albums out of them (you could slip them into the sleeves of bigger albums). We'll probably keep and frame the best ones. I don't love the wrapping paper idea just because it makes me feel kinda sad that whoever is getting it is going to rip it off and throw it away (unless it's grandma and grandpa of course)... maybe it would be cute to make a card out of it for family members?

i've saved all of them, but charlie does an art project pretty much almost every day, so i'll toss them at some point. i'm going to scan the best ones and turn it into a photobook. when he's older and it's more artlike, i'll probably frame some.

I've saved the few things we've done together, but I do plan to just scan them as mentioned upthread.

I just downloaded an iphone app called Kid Art. You take photos of the art with your phone and keep them in the app. I think there is another one called "Art my kid made" or something like that. We have so much stuff all over our fridge that it was getting out of control, and some of the stuff they bring home from school is too cute to throw away (but must be done at some point).

Target also sells this photo frame that has a storage compartment so you can swap out artwork easily!

I've also heard of wrapping some pieces in clear contact paper for LO's to use as placemats. Or taking pictures and turning them into postcards to send to grandparents. Our LO isn't here yet, so we'll see what we end up doing.
