ziplock bags! my mom made a ton of soup before she left and froze them in ziplock bags for me.
so easy and convenient!

I use those round plastic containers that soup comes in when you get Chinese takeout. We have tons of them that MIL brought over.

I use the plastic soup containers from Chinese take-out also.

Another Ziploc user here! I portion my meal out and then lay the bags flat on a cookie sheet so that when they're frozen I can stack them side-by-side and easily see what we have (while also taking up almost no space).
I've never really had a problem with leaks as long as I've handled the bags well (not scraping them against other things in the freezer or dropping them) and not over-filled them. When I thaw, I try to remember the day before so I can put the bag in a bowl in the fridge overnight, which will catch any leaks that might happen and keep them edible. Or, if I'm quick-thawing I will put the bag in a gallon-size ziploc for the same result and thaw in the sink under cool water.
Even less time? I will peel the bag away from the frozen food inside and put in a big pot (big enough so that the whole frozen block lays flat) and heat on low, covered with occasional stirring. Works great!

I'm another person that uses the plastic soup to go containers from Chinese take out places. they hold up really well in the freezer and you can re-heat directly in them also.

Ziploc user here too! We usually use the quart freezer bags so that they're still as thick as a freezer bag, but not as big as a gallon one!

P.S....your soup sounds good! Can we come and get some??

I use ziploc bags too!

I use twist lid cylinder containers, I think made by ziploc. They fit really nicely in our freezer door shelves, and the short ones are great single serving and the tall ones are good for two servings.

Ziplocks! Freeze flat and then turn on end once frozen - they take up so little space!
