Whatever you normally buy! I always poke through the racks when I'm nearby.. I've found Banana Republic, Anthropologie, BCBG all new with tags.. just bought a pair of Keds boaters in my size with the tags still attached. I sew so I always look for fabric and sewing patterns

i'm going to a thrift store this afternoon to look for a picture frame that I can repaint and some books. I've also been on the lookout for baby stuff lately, but haven't had any success.

@anonysquire: I'm looking for a frame that's at least 16 x 20 so that I can put a great mat in it. What I have to frame is 8 1/2 x 11. Depending on what I find, I'm thinking about painting it either a distressed brown with gold over or brown with a slightly pink tinge.

When I was a kid my parents couldn't afford to buy six kids all new clothes, so I grew up getting all my clothes from thrift stores! I still have an appreciation for thrifting!

I do get the majority of Cobi's baby clothes there, just because I know he'll only be in them for a few months, and I like saving money. So often they have brand new clothes with tags still on

I also got ALL of his picture frames at the thrift store, I refuse to buy them from stores now when I can pay about $2/frame. I just spray painted them all green or navy..

I find little tchotchkes there too: I found a little ceramic owl bank, and spray-painted it navy for LO's room; half his book collection, clothes for me that I need while trying to lose the baby weight, fabric, old sheets, furniture etc...

My husband and I have never bought any furniture new except our mattress and now our rocking chair.

I usually get decor elements, frames, sometimes clothes (but it's rare) and books.

I LOVE thrifting and it's one of the only places where I buy my clothing. Granted, there are some things I don't even bother with, such as pants, but everything else clothing related is fair game for me! I even bought some cute outfits for the baby from the thrift store. And, yes, purses and shoes! So many great vintage purses! I stopped thrifting for myself when I found out I was pregnant though, and now I have enough clothing for myself to last me a long long long time. =P I instead look for toys and baby-related things now.
