There's a Dove factory like 2 blocks from my apartment. On certain days the air smells like brownies baking. Not often enough to get old--maybe twice a month. The air smells mouthwatering.

It's the town I grew up in! I are someone I know almost every time I step out my door.

My city is consistently ranked in the top 3 world cities for quality of life, so there is a lot to love about it.

The biggest selling point for DH and I was how child friendly it is here. The second thing would be that the international airport is a 16min train ride from our house, so the world can be ours

There are so many things I love about where we live!

I love that:
our town is continually rated as one of the safest towns in the US
it is truly a great place to raise a family
great schools
so many people who come here for school end up staying to raise their family. Like yours truly
many born here leave for college or a job but end up moving back to raise a family
the FOOD! For a small city we have a ton of different cuisines. So many great restaurants that are locally owned
within 40 minutes to 2 hours we have state parks, tons of farms, the finger lakes
the Architecture. So many great Architects started here so there's a ton of architectural history here.

the proximity to big cities. Toronto is 1.5 hours and NYC is 6-7 hours. Pittsburgh is 4.

It took DH & I years to decide to raise our family here versus NYC so we really do love it.

We live 2 minutes from the beach...it is not touristy at all and has the most amazing sandbars in the summer that we have all to ourselves.

I'll try to find the good in my town because I really don't love it here, but here goes:

I love that there are literally hundreds of bodies of water to choose from on any given day; the lake, the beach, multiple rivers, and Florida's springs are amazing and I feel lucky to live so close to some of the best.

I love that everyone has citrus trees in their yard, and that we get to make fresh squeezed juice for 2-3 months of the year.

I love that most of our family is within 2 hours of driving (though I also hate it at the same time )

Disney World is 1.5 hours away, so we can go whenever we like. I adored growing up so close to the theme parks. They really were a large part of my childhood.

Right now we live in a "small" city. So it has all the ammentites of a bigger city but it only takes 20 minutes to get to anywhere in town.

I'm more excited to move back to the country. I'm talking a town of 250 people with only main street paved, the rest are gravel I love small town living & love the country life style. Everyone is friendly, everyone waves as you walk by or stops to say hi, it's great. We will build out on DH's family farm and then our kids will go to school 10 minutes away in a town of 7500, so we have what we need within a short drive & the city is only 20 minutes away in the opposite direction!
