Growing up, I used to be embarrassed about being Korean - I felt like everyone knew about Chinese people or Japanese people but when it came to being Korean, I felt awkward. But now, it seems like being Korean is super popular (thanks to Psy and Korean dramas and kimchi).
Anyway, I LOVE being Korean! I really do love Korean food and I enjoy introducing people to it!

Definitely not proud of the food of my people (Jewish). But we're pretty funny/contribute a lot to show business in various forms.

Some pretty fun traditions like quinceaneras, playing the game loteria (similar to bingo), piñatas, the legendary weeping woman (La Llorona) story
(everyone remembers telling scary stories as a kid - this story is a MUST for us.)
For the most part I think we really know how to party (is that a good thing?)

The food!! The holidays too - red envelopes and mooncakes anyone?? And I love their philosophies on alternative/eastern medicine... I feel so fortunate to have grown up around all that stuff.

@Rubies: Yep, the food too. Though, i get annoyed when people say, "i looove Korean bbq!" Ummm, that's not what Korean food is all about!

While my region is made up of many islands, I'll speak about what I love about Caribbean people in general. I love the food of course (curry chicken, oxtail, roti, ginger beer (not the carbonated stuff you buy at the store, fried or boiled sweet plantains). I love the fact that many Caribbean people love a good party with dancing. I also do love the fact that there is a respect for elders and even with the partying people can be bit a bit formal. I like things a little old school sometimes.
@highwire: You need to come to NYC! There are a few great Jewish gourmet restaurants that I like plus the traditional Jewish delis. I loves me some lox, matzoh ball soup, hamentaschen, and a good pastrami sandwich...oh my!
I LURVE Korean food. I craved it during my first trimester.

Food! I love how Filipino food and culture is a mixture from so many other cultures. I also like how there's cultural similarities to the rest of Asia and Latin America. I also think it's great to see the vast difference in appearance of Filipinos, some look Hispanic, others Asian and everything in between. If we visit the Philippines with LO, I won't ever have to worry about discrimination because she's mixed.

I think the Midwest has a bad reputation (especially right now after the election) of being closedminded and backwoods but I don't think that's true. I have cousins who were raised in the city in SF and when they come to visit they express how kind everyone is and I have to agree. I'm proud to live in a 'fly over' state. We may not have anything exotic going for us but I feel like I'm surrounded by kind people and that makes me proud

I love how in the chinese culture, you would call almost everyone you know "auntie" or "uncle", even though there is no biological relation. "Extended family" is a big part of the culture and it's always so festive when people get together!
Oh and I love dim sum.
