Right now SLEEP.
In general, time for hobbies and spur-of-the-moment outings!

Doing nothing. Being able to come home from work, watch tv for 3 hours, have a bowl of cereal, and go to bed. Also going to movies and out to a nice restaurant without 3 weeks of planning.

Time! And spontaneity.I miss being able to take off for the weekend. Oh and Sleep. I miss sleep like a lot!

For me it's doing random things after work. Or just going to shop, have a drink, run an errand without having to plan ahead.

Outside of the obvious things like extra money, date nights, and sleep, I miss being able to get lost in a book or binge watch a great TV show.

Sleep. Glorious sleep.
Also, somedays I miss the ability to just pick up and go somewhere. We used to do some last minute cross-country trips or even simple things like just going to the movies on a whim. While we can still do these things, it just take a lot of extra coordination and planning ahead.

The thing I miss the *most* is being lazy on weekends. I'm a total lazy homebody and I loooooved sleeping in then maybe making a big breakfast then just doing NOTHING for a while. With a toddler I feel like we just can't be that lazy because she gets bored if we're just home for hours on end so we always plan stuff to go out and do every morning and most nights.

So many good responses.
The first thing that comes to mind is spontaneity. The freedom to do whatever whenever. Life with kids feels so scheduled.
Going out to dinner weekly with my husband! Taking the kids out to eat even if it's just to Panera is a nightmare!

Spontaneous dates, eating out, Indian cusine (something LO doesn't eat), fancy restaurants that serves creative grown up food + doesn't have a kid menu, traveling (a lot). Time for myself and not being emotionally abused by the constant tantrums lol

I miss going to the movies whenever we wanted. We used to go like once a week. Also, I am really wanting to go on a vacation with just the two of us right now and before we would just book one and not think twice about it. Now we can't do that.

Vacation! If we want to go on a nice trip we have to choose between bringing babies (which is basically impossible because of all the crap they require) or leaving them behind (which is a huge logistical nightmare since grandparents don't live close by and would need to be flown in to watch the kids). We do go to the beach for a week with my family every year, but I want to go to a fancy resort! It sucks that we can afford it, we have the vacation time, but we just can't make it work around the kiddos.

@Truth Bombs: I feel the same way! I just want to go to an all-inclusive beach resort!

@erinbaderin: This exactly.
And travel without so many logistics. Just pack, go to the airport, relax.

Travel and disposable income. I miss just being able to buy whatever I wanted.

We miss the spontaneity too! And being able to stay out late and eat out whenever we feel like it. Our toddler hates sit-down restaurants, so if I don't feel like cooking, we have to get food to-go, which isn't quite the same experience as eating it at the restaurant.
