Last year I did Oreos and they were a huge hit so I plan to do those again this year.

I really want to do something non food this year because both my kids have food allergies and its sort of sad that we just take all their candy at the end of trick or treating! But DH is not on board yet and thinks we should just find something both of them can eat to give.

This will be our first year with trick or treaters!! Will prob get some assorted chocolate candies but I want to get something allergy/ littler kid friendly too- maybe stickers?

Reese's (my husband's favorite) and dum-dum lolipops (my LO's favorite and her pick to hand out). Also, stickers and spider rings for non-candy options

This is only our second year in a house but last year we passed out willy wonka candy.

DH usually gets mini candy bars of some sort, and I try to pick up a non-chocolate option. II used to like the wonka mixes, but now I'm seeing they have gluten. Maybe I'll do smarties this year

I usually pick up a small bag of my favorites (twix, reeses, or kitkats) but in the years we've been here, we've never had more than 1 trick or treater, so usually we don't pass out anything! We take our LO trick or treating around the neighborhood though, so I like to keep our light on anyway. Seems wrong to go trick or treating if you aren't giving anything away.

Some assortment of candy from Costco, ideally Reese's, kit kats and Hershey bars, and glow bracelets.

I wish we got trick or treaters but we're on a dead end, up a hill
But I've always given out things I'd want if we had leftovers - Snickers, Twix, Milky Way, butterfingers, Reece's, etc.

@fancyfunction: for the last five years we have bought a bag of those "just in case we got trick or treaters". And never had one. Oh no I have to eat the candy!

@Foodnerd81: I know - my husband insisted on getting candy last year when I was pregnant. Who did you think was going to eat it all?

We got a chocolate mix from Costco. I had to hide it in the closet so DH wouldn't eat it before Halloween.

@fancyfunction: we're in an apt and that's our strategy too! Candy that we will eat, lol. I already bought ours-- a mix of all Reese's products! Last year I think we got like 5 kids

We have so many candy collecting events leading up to Halloween night and so few kids that come to our house that we are just planning to hand out whatever candy the kids have already received. It was disgusting how much we had last year that there is no way I'm spending a dime on candy this year!
