What do you thik of places like chuck e cheese or other similar places? I hate chuck e cheese because its all video games! I prefer places that have bouncers, play stuff for kids to run wild in. i like other places though that have stuff for the kids to play on though nad dont mind paying a couple bucks to get in to relaease their energy.hahaha it tires P out!

I haven't been to one since I was about 5 or 6....I'm sure my kids will like those places when they are older!

Eh I don't mind Chuck E Cheese (although I have only been there once and without any kids of my own). I like video games and arcades (DH and I met in one), so I guess it seems like fun to me. They have games like Dance Dance Revolution that are tiring lol.

I hate them. There's a mall nearby with a HUGE playplace, but ti's always crowded with kids whose parents aren't watching them, and I can only imagine the germ fest inside of it.
MIL loves to take DS to that type of place, but I don't allow it this time of year. DS is going to Disney with my parents in February, so I'm doing my best to kep him from missing too much school before then!

I much prefer like a bounce house, hands on museum or indoor jungle gym (which unfortunately closed by us). However, we will end up taking her to video arcade type places at some point.

My 5 yr old loves it and I personally love Skeeball
But as far as releasing energy .... bounce houses are way better!

I've never been to one but my gut reaction was: Ew, germy.

We go to Chuck E Cheese a few times a year as a treat. The kids love it.
Whenever I go, all I can think is... GERMS! I'm not normally a germophobe, but it just seems especially germy to me. Plus that stupid ticket machine never eats the tickets right argh.

All I think is how grimy and gross it seems. There's a bounce house/gym type place near us that is lots of fun though! It has slides and things for kids to climb on. Jake loved it!

I don't think we have any by us but I'm sure LO will end up at places like it for birthday parties and such.
I once ate an entire pizza at Chuck E Cheese. Clearly, my proudest childhood accomplishment!

I loved it as a kid, but now I see it and playgrounds at malls as a total germ fest... but I will still take my kids when they are older because they will loveeeeeeeeeee it just like i did!

We get lots of invitations for parties there so it's unavoidable. The kids love it! We do good hand washing and avoid the ball pit (pretty much germiest place on earth).

I have actually never been! I went to a Dave and busters with dh once. It was really fun!

Eeegh now that I'm an adult I really don't want to go near or Chuck E Cheese. It's soo grody looking.
I wish we had more places in my town with like, intellectual play spaces? Or even a play space in general? I remember growing up in IL we had a lot of indoor playground type places with play spaces, toys, etc. I loved them, and I wish we had some in my town.

Ugh, haaate Chuck E Cheese. The closest one near us is in a bad area too.
I like activities where kids can get out energy like bounce gyms.

I think it's super fun for kids. I was scared of the mouse when I was young!

Aw I didn't know they got all the video games in there now; I thought it's all like skeeball, air hockey, those basketball things, etc! I definitely would not want to bring my kid there if it's all video games.
There is one of those new trampoline parks that opened near me... I actually wanted to try it out because they look so fun!

@pui: I hope they will always have the old school stuff! I can't imagine if I told my grandkids one day that I loved skeeball and they're like "what?" or "yeah wii skeeball is great!" lol
