This is my first post confirming my pregnancy I posted in December about our IUI and then never updated (superstitious). BUT, I am now 18+ weeks pregnant! Due date is September 9th.

It's a girl, and I am so thrilled! We found out at 12 weeks during the CVS. It was no secret that I wanted a girl. I grew up with all sisters, all girl cousins and now 2 step-sisters (as adults) and don't know what I would do with a boy

So far, so good! I didn't have morning sickness or any other symptoms, really. Still haven't felt any movement yet. Clothes are definitely tight & I only have 3 pairs of "regular" jeans that still fit...

I'm participating in a research study & have an ultrasound next week (& my 20 week the following!), so I am looking forward to seeing the little lentil (her nickname - one of the first food size comparisons that I read & it just stuck).

I'm 18 weeks (due Sept. 10.) We're scheduled for our anatomy scan next week but we don't plan on finding out what baby is. The girl who scheduled my appointment told me this is the "fun" ultrasound because they go over everything so we can't wait. She also told me to bring a DVD and they'll record everything.

I haven't felt any movements yet, this is my first pregnancy, but I think I'm having round ligament pains. It's been going on for a couple days, sometimes stabby pains and sometimes light "cramp-like" pains in my stomach area. I'm thinking of calling the dr. today and asking them about it. Anyone out there experiencing that description? Also, because it's been such an easy pregnancy (no M/S), I'm in constant fear that something is wrong. Maybe I'm just having one of those days.

I'm not showing yet, but since none of my jeans fit me anymore, I have been rocking my maternity jeans / pants. So comfortable!

congrats all you September mamas! I am a September baby and LOVE the month, it's the most beautiful month of the year where I'm from, and in most places I've visited as well. Good luck to you all and I hope the summer isn't too scorching for you

@sorrycharlie: that's what my sister loved about being pregnant thru the summer, she hardly bought any maternity clothes. She wore lots of empire waist dresses, regular stretch tanks from target and drawstring cotton shorts. She said she was really comfortable the whole time.
I was just pregnant over the winter but thankfully it was a calm one so I didn't buy a coat either. But yes, my options were so limited.

Glad to see some new names w/ Sept due dates lately.

I am 17w2d by my due date, 18w by the measurements at my last ultrasound, and will have the anatomy ultrasound next week. This will be the first (of my three) ultrasounds that my husband can make it to so we are very excited! I also recently started to get a little bump. It's still not noticeable though.

I have been debating if what I'm feeling is baby for the past week or so and I think it is. It doesn't feel like gas. I know it's very early for a first timer to feel anything though. Can't wait til it can be felt from the outside!

@JoyJoy: Yanno, I really don't know what people are thinking when they make comments about a pregnant woman's body. Well, actually, I really don't think they are *thinking.* Lots of women show with their first well before 4.5 months - just look at WB's Bump Love thread. I, btw, am *so* jealous because I can't wait for a bump! (and my DH can't wait for me to have a bump so I will stop obsessing already! )

@MsLipGloss: The bump is fun in the oh-my-goodness-i-really-am-pregnant sense, but having it at 4 months got me a lot of "what?? you're showing so soon!" looks and comments. At least I'm past the 5 month mark now. People seem a lot more used to seeing bumps at 5 months.

That sucks about the migraines! Do you get them normally or are they a fun little pregnancy side effect?

The kicks are so exciting, aren't they? I still smile whenever I feel them.

We have our anatomy scan tomorrow! We're excited to see the baby again, but we're hoping to keep the gender a secret for a little bit longer. I'm going to ask them to write it down and keep it in an envelope so we can do a big gender reveal with our family. This is assuming I don't lose all willpower and peek into the envelope "on accident".

@sorrycharlie: sorry you are having a bad day.

I am starting to feel a little movement. Still bummed i have to wait a month for my scan.

@Spaina96: Are there any places close to you that perform elective ultrasounds? I had one at 16 weeks to determine the sex (and to see her and hear her heartbeat again), just because I could not wait until 20 weeks - lol!

I told someone that I was due mid-September and she (it was an older woman) said her daughter is due 9/21 and definitely showing already, and everyone keeps telling me "you don't even look pregnant!" I know I'll be eating my words later but it makes me anxious..although I see a difference, it's just not noticeable yet.

I am pretty sure what I'm feeling is baby, it feels like nothing I've ever felt before, but you never know, since everything is probably all jumbled up in there anyway.

Only a few more days til our anatomy scan...!

@Skirpa: Congrats on your anatomy scan going well, I feel like after that the fun part of pregnancy is on!

@Googly-Eyes: I get that from people in my office too (I am due the first week of September) . . . I think they think it is a compliment, but I feel the same way as you . . . it's totally a be careful what you ask for type situation, but I am so ready to look pregnant (as opposed to chubby or letting myself go!). I totally have bump envy!

@BienLivingDesign: I finally felt butterbean kick just this past Saturday (at almost 20 weeks). Now that I know what I am feeling, I feel her more often . . . it also made me realize that I was feeling her before I knew I was feeling her, but I just wasn't quite sure at the time. It will come soon - I know it is so hard to wait! In the meantime, enjoy your u/s - they are so much fun!

I had my 20 week a/s yesterday, and everything looked great! Butterbean was just under the 50th percentile for size. *phew* During the amnio a few weeks ago she was measuring big, and I have been having dreams that she was going to be a big (elephant-sized) baby. While I was on the u/s table, she kicked really hard (twice) and DH could see her kicks make my belly tent up. It was pretty awesome.

How is everyone else doing?

@Googly-Eyes: Welcome to Team Pink - and yay for little girls! I, too, *really* thought I was having a boy (and had always pictured us with boys), so I was pretty shocked when the sonographer told me it was a girl. But after the initial shock, I couldn't be more excited to be having a girl. And about the names . . . I really only had names picked out for boys, and just a few ideas for girls. DH has come up with our two current first name front-runners, and I really, really like them both.

Today, at 21 weeks, I got a comment that I am *still* small. I realize folks are just trying to be sweet, and lord knows I have gained enough weight . . . but I bet one of these weeks I'm gonna pop over night and will show up at work like *BAM! How Ya Like Me Now?!*

And yeah, seeing the kicks was really cool, and definitely the first time that had happened. I have, on occasion when I am laying on my back in bed, seen my belly sorta lean one direction or another. But this was great because I know he is really excited to feel the baby kick . . . the only reason he didn't get to feel it was that my belly was covered in goo at the time.

@SorryCharlie: So glad everything went well during your a/s! Olivia Leigh is such lovely name. We have our names narrowed down to 2, and there is a front-runner, but we are still mulling over the second option.

The kicks have been great, although inconsistent (OB said they would probably be inconsistent for another couple of weeks). That stinks that you haven't felt your LO kick yet, although it will probably happen when you least expect it. For me, once I knew what I was feeling, I realized I had probably felt her a little earlier, but just wasn't sure that it was kicks versus indigestion at the time.

@SorryCharlie: Yep - perfect sense! The first feelings I (remember I) had were sort of fish-against-the-glass type feelings (thumps) . . . I didn't get bubbles (but the first feelings are usually described as bubbly), but I also got the flip-ish feeling. Oooooh, so exciting!

@SorryCharlie: not creepy at all - this is exciting stuff! Definitely put it in (at least) the maybe category. I had quite a few feelings like that and just sort of passed them off . . . but after the first *for sure* kicks, I realized she had been trying to get my attention for a while.

Oh, and it may have been just one, but there has to be a first, and one is all it takes.

@Skirpa Hope the spotting stops quickly. Glad you at least got to check up on your little one with an ultrasound. Yes I talk to her, or I have been over the last week or so! It's one of the first steps toward language development! (I am studying child & human development, I love this stuff..especially early literacy lol) And anyway, can't hurt, plus I feel a little more bonded, as silly as it does sometimes sound/feel! You're normal!

I love feeling her move, but when I don't feel her a certain amount in a day I illogically start to worry a little. I KNOW it's supposed to be inconsistent at this point, but that doesn't stop me from worrying in the back of my mind!

Also is anyone else's baby very low? I feel her like several inches below my belly button. At first I thought it wasn't really her, but when I went for my a/s, that's where the tech found her!

We also chose a name, but I'm sworn to secrecy, lol. My husband actually chose the name, and I changed it a little. My choice would have been Zoey/Zoe, but I also liked the one my husband had chosen, I think it fits us, and Zoey/Zoe is very popular right now (not that popularity is always a bad thing!)

Has anyone started buying stuff for baby yet? I got a boppy pillow for $10 on totsy.com yesterday after seeing someone on babycenter.com posting about them. Hopefully that turns out to be a good deal. We also went out and bought some little outfits on sale and started looking at strollers, carseats, swings, etc. (the big stuff) but haven't purchased it or registered for it yet. I know cribs can take awhile so we'll have to do that probably by June..

@MusicaV Good to know! What week are you in? Sorry, I missed your EDD.
