@MusicaV: I've been taking it orally 1-2 times a day (I tend to forget) and I did use it vaginally twice, and as of Monday I'd dilated to 2 cm (but no idea on effacement - that particular OB didn't tell me). So I'm not sure if it's working or if it's coincidence, but I'm still taking it to be safe, haha. good luck tonight!! I'm not going to lie, I'm jealous!
I begged my OB on Monday if I could be induced on my due date because I'm still vomiting daily and he said no, that L&D needs a "good medical reason" to induce. UGH.

@sorrycharlie: Do you have any dentist friends who can write your ob a note that vomiting daily isn't healthy? I would call that a good medical reason.

@MusicaV: I wish I did I even mentioned the vomiting to him and he didn't seem to agree that it was a good reason. I guess because I can keep food down and the baby is growing? Sigh.

Just a quick update: Baby V was born at 9:16 PM after 27 hours in the hospital. I'm very tired and sore, but he is perfectly healthy. I had some bad bleeding and tearing so we didn't get much skin to skin time until later. BFing hasn't gone well so far, but hopefully some sleep will help us both.

@MusicaV: congratulations!! hope you're feeling better today!!

@musicv: Congratulations and hope things improve with sleep (I can say they did somewhat for us).
@sorrycharlie: sending baby arrival vibes your way. It's funny how each hospital/doctor is different. My OB induced me at 39 weeks because that was the earliest he was allowed to do it (not sure if insurance or hospital was the reason though).

Congrats to purpletulips, skirpa, photomommy, and musicav!
@musicav Hope you are feeling better and BFing improved. I had BFing problems and my LO was losing weight..so I'm just pumping and bottle feeding for now. While I do feel I failed and I'm not sure how long I'll be able to pump (I'm not doing it every 2-3 hrs) by taking the pressure off I think I am doing much better in every other way and I was getting SO so sad. DH was freaking out about PPD since I'd just sit there crying! Anyway hope your experience has improved! Everything I've read and heard acknowledges how hard the first few weeks are!
@sorrycharlie hope LO arrives soon! Hope you are able to stick it out and try to get some sleep in the meantime! I definitely call vomiting daily a good reason- it's not like you asked to be induced early. It could also depend on your insurance and what they will cover...maybe? Either way I hope you have a quick and easy labor...soon!
I had my LO almost two weeks ago now and we are finally settling down into a "routine" which, as you know with a newborn is not really routine at all. I was in early labor for a day, went into the hospital with contractions under 5 mins apart but not strong enough, was offered to stay and walk or go home and try tylenol for the pain, chose to go home. Went back the next night with still irregular contractions (3 mins, 4 mins, 12 mins, 6 mins, 3 mins, 4 mins, 3 mins, 2 mins, 5 mins, you get the picture!) but in so much pain...turned out I was 8 cm! Gave birth early the following morning and have been busy with LO ever since!

@googly-eyes: yeah, my OB said my hospital is very strict with inductions. she said it's priority level based and that 41+ weeks are first in line (I have no 'medical' reason to be induced such as GD, high BP, etc). sad.
BUT! I'm losing a TON of nastiness today...so my OB wants me to get checked today instead of waiting until tomorrow. at the very least, maybe the internal will speed things up!
I'm so glad you are feeling better about pumping and BFing! That's one of my biggest anxieties, actually. Were you able to get the epidural in time (did you want the epi?). That sounds like a quick labor!!

@sorrycharlie Sounds like things are moving along!!!!
Yes I did want and get an epi. I FREAKED OUT when they said 8 cm bc i thought id miss it! Labor was actually pretty long but the part at the hospital was short and painless. I got the epi within 30-45 minutes of arriving at the hospital.

Congrats to all the new mommies! Did we all have September babies or is anyone still waiting?
How is everyone doing? Is anyone still checking this thread or interested in starting a September babies thread?
GOLD / pomelo / 5737 posts
@skirpa Sounds like a good idea..everything got a little crazy toward the end of pregnancy so I didn't check in very often but it would be nice to hear an update on all the mommies and babies that are still around! I know everyone must be super busy though! The first week or two were absolutely crazy around here but things are sort of settling down, or at least my nerves are.

@skipra: I'm interested in a Sept babies thread, especially to see how we are all doing in these early days.
