This is what the pediatrician said to do, so we have been pretty much following it, but it seems super slow to me!

Week 1 (6 months old): Rice cereal 2x/day, bfast and dinner times

Week 2: Barley cereal 2x/day

Week 3: Oatmeal cereal 2x/day

Week 4: Mixed grain cereal 2x/day

Week 5 and beyond: Continue cereal at bfast/dinner times, introduce vegetables at lunch time, starting with green, to orange, to yellow. 3-4 days per vegetable before going to the next one.

After veggies: Start fruits around bfast time (when she's getting cereal)

After fruits: Meats around dinner time

What I've actually been doing since getting to week 5: mixed grain or barley cereal in the AM, a veggie in the PM.

The doctor said that the iron in the cereal is good for LO (who is FF, if that makes a difference.) But 2x/day? She didn't say which to continue with. LO had a little trouble drinking enough formula with 3 meals/day so I'm only doing 2.

I don't know, I trust the doctor, but this seems pretty far off from what others are doing at the 6 (almost 7) month mark and I'm wondering if so much cereal is necessary/good for her.
