we have an udder cover! My mom bought it for us and I LOVE it. The top is a curved piece of something.. maybe plastic? And it allows me to see LO nursing. It's nice so that I can get him latched without flashing everyone.
She got it here: http://www.uddercovers.com/ using the promo code FAMILY2012. You get the udder cover free and only pay shipping (which is about $11).
She actually bought us the gift set which includes a nursing bracelet - it keeps track of what time and side your LO last ate (helpful for me!) and organic nursing pads- which I loved and really needed! With the promo, the gift set is only $5.
I think you should get the udder cover

I have several nursing covers, and I'm not sure what has come out in the past 3 years since I got them, but here's what I liked the best: light colored, thin material, curved stiff piece at the top so you can just look down and see the baby, and LARGE in case baby likes to kick it away (like Wagon jr. did)! My favorite was ordered from a girl who makes them as a business... can't remember the website. I just saw my friend's and ordered the same one.

i have a bebe au lait cover that i used for a while, but now i just use an aden and anais muslin blanket since i always have that in the stroller. she has been pretty good about not pulling it off, and she was never a fan of the nursing cover anyway.

I'm not talented enough to get her latched without the curved peekaboo piece at the top. My cover is called a peanut shell, works fine. I agree, thin/breathable is key. LO gets hot in there

@Mrs. Bee: @Andrea: that's what I use if I need something quick and don't have my udder cover near me!
@stargal: I love seeing my baby! It is important in the first few months while establishing breastfeeding too. Especially if he would accidentally unlatch himself. I also loved that it's easy to fold up and put in the diaper bag.

I just use a blanket. With my twins I used old sarongs. They were light weight and pretty and covered both slides of me
