we have so MANY recieving blankets we recieved from ppl as gifts, so i was originally going to use them to swaddle him in but then a nurse told me that swaddling with blankets is now considered dangerous with sids?? is this true, i have never heard of this?
also would it just be easier to buy sleep sacks and those velcro swaddlers? they seem so simple!

Hmm... Not sure about the blankets. I know people on here have said they use the Aden and anais blankets for swaddling. We have a couple of miracle blankets we are going to try.

The only swaddle that worked for us was the miracle blanket. We have four. Had to watch the how to video several times before we got it.
It's only a sids risk after they learn how to flip over... then you have to unswaddle them. Until then it should be fine to swaddle. At least, that's what I learned.

at 3 mos old he can get his arms out and wake himself up, so we have to double swaddle him, with an aden and anais blanket then a velcro swadddle sack on top.
Before he could break out, we used the summer infant velcro swaddles - sooo much easier! -
I just realized, overheating is a sids risk, that may be what the nurse was talking about.

We just use the Aden and Anais blanket right now.

We use the SwaddleMe velcro swaddles. If it's chilly in our room, then we also swaddle with an Aden & Anais blanket on top of that.

We use the swaddleme velcro blankets and I love them; they're so simple to use.

I use the Halo sleep sack with the swaddle feature. It's fabulous. I have a couple of other ones that have velcro too, but are a bit complicated. I highly recommend the ones by Halo.

lo hates the swaddle me thing. we use receiving blankets.

A double swaddle with A+A blankets or a miracle blanket is what worked for us.

We stink at using swaddle blankets but admittedly I haven't spent much time trying to learn. Instead, we use the Summer Infant Swaddle Me velcro swaddles. He still sort of hates being swaddled (likes having his hands free), but I try to force it.

Weird, they use a blanket to swaddle in the hospital. I used the kind that velcros. The problem with that though is sizing. My lo was in-between sizes for a while.

I would love to use the SwaddleMe because it's so easy, but LO breaks out every time. We use the Miracle Blanket now, and it's amazing!
