I've noticed a lot of people using the acronym "fx". I can figure out from context that it means something like "good luck" or "hoping for..." but I can't figure out what it the letters actually stand for. I work in banking and to me FX will always stand for Foreign Exchange! Please advise!

Fingers crossed! I feel so out of the loop; my first reaction was also "foreign exchange" because I used to be a reporter at a financial news service. My second thought was "effects" because that's a film industry shorthand for special effects.
