DD is 5 and for the most part she uses her straw bottle (camelbak) at home. A big part of this is because if DS who is 2 and will knock over a regular cup.

We started putting all her beverages in mason jars when she was maybe 18 months old. She's 28 months now and does great with them. Never dropped one.

DS is 2 and drinks out of a camelbak too. He can drink out of a cup but if we leave cups accessible he likes to just walk up and tip them over so we only use cups at cafes when he is being supervised closely!

It depends. Our almost 5 year old gets a cup if we're sitting at the table, but he has to drink anything in the kitchen, even if it's water. If we're out and about, he's got a thermos straw cup.
Our almost 2 year old still has his thermos straw cup, but is getting better about drinking from a regular cup. He drinks a ton of milk though where DS1 doesn't, so we tend to put it in his straw cup to minimize mess.

Ikea kids cups, or camelbak straw cup. She usually just drinks water. If it's milk she never uses the camelbak, because I don't believe I could probably rinse it out and feel confident it was fully clean.
Edit that she's 4

DS will be 2 in three weeks and pretty much sippy or straw cup all the time! And straw thermos sometimes. I have tried to do more of an open cup because he struggles with that but it's SUCH a mess - it just goes everywhere and I hate cleaning up spilled water all the time. I need to just do it! Ugh.

DD1 is 2.5 and she drinks out of an open cup if we're sitting still at at table to eat; otherwise she gets a straw cup.

DS is almost 3 and uses the munchkin clicklock straw cup for his morning milk and then water throughout the day. At dinner he gets an IKEA kids open cup but doesn't drink a lot from it. Since it's so hot I prefer the straw cup because he sips water from that all day.

4 and regular open cup. I hate washing the thermos straw cups all the time if she uses it at home and she can fill up a regular cup by herself.

2 year old has a water bottle he drinks out of all day. He gets milk in a sippy cup. He's probably capable of drinking out of an open cup at dinner but we don't have any small plastic ones. I should probably get one...

A glass at the table both for my 4 year old and for my 2.5 year old and Camelbaks when out and about and mostly at home on the weekends too. They have Larkin stainless steel bottles for bed.

Glass cups for water and milk at mealtime for my 4&5 year old. My 2 year old uses straw cups for milk and water at the table.
They use their Funtainers around the house for water.

DS is almost 21 months and he drinks out of a glass 1/2 pint mason jar, a stainless steel tumbler or a kleen kanteen water bottle.

Take and toss straw cups, regular cups, and sometimes out of her camelback

DD drinks out of a straw cup/bottle similar to a camelback. I don't feel like dealing with spills!

A month shy of 3 and we almost exclusively use camelbak eddy for water and thermos funtainer for milk.
He can actually drink from an open cup just fine, but he still is careless about knocking it over. At school they only use open containers so I know he's getting the practice daily.

3.5 and she usually uses her CamelBak when we are out and about, take and toss cups at home. She is perfectly capable of using an open cup but she doesn't drink enough without a straw.

How often are y'all washing the camelbaks? Daily? More often? I usually forget ours in the car and then am hesitant to use it because I can't remember when it was last cleaned!
