city mini GT (side by side)
pros: love everything about it. 2 large canopies. when it's down the kids can still see everything in front of them.
fully reclines
adjustable handle
fits through all doors
easy to fold and unfold
con: it's a bit of a pain getting things in the basket below, but I don't use it much anyway so not a big deal.

I don't have a real double, just a sit-n-stand Joovy caboose, and added a hitchhiker to our other stroller, too. So far, so OK. Joovy apparently has a thing you can add to make the sit-n-stand more of a double, with a seatback instead of just a jump seat. So that would probably be a good thing to have. I love how small the Joovy is in comparison to other doubles or sit-n-stands.

we have the combi double sport which is a side by side.
pros: one of the lightest doubles
stands when folded
easy fold
fits through all standard doors
affordable
each seat can recline
cons:
small useless canopy
not as smooth a ride as the city mini double....
which i would have gotten if it didn't take up so much space folded and doesn't stand on its own. those two features are really a necessity for us because we have limited space and have to fold the stroller when we go on the bus.
for our walking city/public transportation/small apartment needs, i think the combi is the best bet.

@chopsuey: I have the same one and I love it!
Cons- don't like the hand brake, kinda heavy, weird basket, kinda wide. Very minor issues!

@Mrs. Bee: this is the one we were leaning towards when testing them out the other weekend. I noticed it didn't have much storage underneath, do you find that to be an issue?
admin / watermelon / 14210 posts
@Bao: yah the storage is really sucky. but we just have hooks on the stroller and hang things off of it so it isn't that big of a deal. we're constantly folding the stroller so we don't like to put things underneath anyway.

I love the Combi double sport!! It's great for city life. You can get optional cup holders and hooks, which I highly recommend!

everything @Mrs. Bee: said since we have the same stroller! we love it and it's super affordable as far as double strollers go. we live in the suburbs, so we mostly drive everywhere. we only use the stroller when we walk to the park or walk around the mall, so not having the large canopy wasn't a deal breaker for me.
i love the side-by-side too because the kids really like sitting next to each other. noelle always wants to hold jaren's hand and offers her toys to him whenever we're out and about. she also likes to share her blanket with him when we go on one of our after dinner strolls.

@Mrs. High Heels: Charlie and Olive really enjoy sitting next to each other too!! Except instead of offering his toys to his younger sibling, Charlie is always stealing hers ha.
Slowly but surely though, he's getting better at sharing his toys with her!! I credit the double stroller for at least some of that...

@mrbee: we get a fair amount of stealing here too, haha!

@Mrs. High Heels: I get amazed sometimes watching older sisters play with their younger siblings... a lot of times, the older sister wants to help out and do nice things for their sibling!
That doesn't come naturally to Charlie... he loves his sister, but he almost never "mothers" her. Actually whatever the opposite of mothering is, that's pretty much what he does! What amazes me is that she still loves him to pieces... someone once blogged that younger kids see their older siblings through rose-colored glasses, and thankfully that's been the case for Olive!!

We have a Britax B-Agile double, which is a side-by-side.
Pro: super easy to fold, and the underneath storage can be accessed through zipper compartments in the front of the stroller, so it is much more useable. We can't put anything under there from behind, but I can shove my giant diaper bag through from the front with no problem. It is really similar in other respects to the City Mini double - fully reclines, big canopies, fits through pretty much all doors. And the handle is adjustable so it acts like a kickstand to let the stroller stand up when folded.
Con: It's heavy and awkwardly shaped when folded - it is like Jenga to get it in the trunk of our car.

We have the combi twin and a bob revolution dualie. Both are great. Storage in both kind of blows but I have a mommy hook that a shopping basket fits on, so the understorage just gets a jacket, water bottle, etc and that fits fine. I like that the combi will fit through any door. It's my shopping stroller. Not as smooth as the bob, but after buying the bob, we wanted something cheaper like the combi. The bob is awesome and the canopies are fantastic at blocking sun, light rain, and just keeping the kids a little warmer. It's for sure our go to stroller when we go for walks or spend any time outside. The suspension on the bob is super nice. But it's huge, it takes up most of the back in our cars, even folded, whereas the combi is pretty compact and perfect for keeping in the car.
Our kids like the side by side so they can share snacks, toys, and just mess with each other. The double snap n go was a tandem and worked fine, but for me, was way more stressful to navigate in a crowd.

After doing a lot of research we bought a City Select stroller. It's pretty pricey, but it has so many options with the seating arrangements. We also wanted a tandem stroller so it would be easy to navigate in stores, etc.

@twobee: Do you ever wish you had the B-Agile instead?
I'm trying to decide between these two... I've heard both good things about the kids sitting side-by-side (they can hold hands! share! see each other!) and bad things (they can also hit and annoy each other!), so I don't know which I'd prefer!

@HabesBabe: I haven't thought about it too much, honestly! I always feel bad for the kid underneath when I see that kind of configuration but I guess no view is better than getting beat up when it gets to that point... Our girls are just seven months so ask me again when they are big enough to hit each other, but so far we love side by side. A couple things occur to me pro and con for the B-ready though. We needed a stroller that could take two newborns without carseats (we had a double snap-n-go for that) and I am not sure the B ready can do that. I can see how it would be super nice to have the option to have a single stroller without much trouble - but that depends on how hard it is to remove the second seat. I would also want to know what it is like folded with the second seat - is it just as big and heavy as the double? I will have to see how it goes as the girls get older - I can't decide whether there would be more fussing as a result of bugging each other or of them fighting over who sits where/whining because they can't see.

@twobee: I forgot to ask - did you use a carseat adaptor at all for it?
grape / 75 posts
@Rubies: we didn't - it comes with one but we didn't use it because you can only hook up one carseat to it. Not so useful with twins! But it is safe to use from birth without a car seat too.
