Charlie's a new reader, and so far we've been reading Green Eggs and Ham, Dr. Seuss's ABC, Hop on Pop and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Honestly most of the books are pretty boring, and I'm wondering if there are Dr. Seuss books that are fun but still easy enough for a new reader.
What Dr. Seuss books are good for new readers, but still interesting?

@mrbee: not Dr. Seuss, but have you ever seen BOB books? They have all different levels as you learn new skills. Great for beginning readers!

@MommySLP: I worry that those books have the same issues in therms of holding interest though? Mat sat, Sam sat, etc.
Maybe it's too much to ask a simple book that kids can sound out to be interesting?

Most Dr. Seuss books are written at pretty low levels and contain common sight words for young readers ages 5-7 or so.
Scholastic has a book reader that might help.

Another good place to find books suited to early readers is by looking up the Geisel award. It's in Dr. Seuss's honor and it is for books that are great for early readers. PD Eastman is similar to Dr. Seuss as well and has some good options.

How about the Horton books or Cat in the Hat? I also always loved The Lorax.

I think technically not a Seuss book, but Go Dog, Go is a favorite.
Definitely check out the Elephant and Piggie books if you haven't already!
