@sslm: Does your family eat poutine? I know that's popular in a lot of the French side of Canada, but don't know about Newfoundland. We eat that here in Maine, especially northern Maine....not sure about the rest of New England though!
But fries covered in cheese and gravy? Uh, yes please!!!

@sslm: if you are looking for a good corn chowder recipe I would suggest the Corn & Cheese one from the Pioneer Woman. It's fairly easy to make and I've gotten rave reviews each time I've made it.
