My husband loves to experiment so we've done a ton!
We smoke our own meat, as in IN a smoker that he built. We've done pulled pork, brisket, ribs, salmon.
We've made our own sausage, pasta, jerky, beer.
There's more but I can't think of it right now!

@regberadaisy: wow, fancy! Especially the sausage, beer, etc. 90% of the stuff I cook is from scratch, and we cook about 4 - 5x a week.

I make pretty much everything we eat from scratch, except butter and yogurt (although I have made both of those from scratch in the past... its too much work).
So... bread, veggie burgers, gluten, cakes, cornbread, cookies, donuts, soups, stock, pasta sauces, salad dressing, apple butter, whipped cream, salsa, guacamole, hummus, pizza dough, fruit leathers, chocolates, applesauce, granola... pretty much everything.
I did think of a couple more things I DON'T make though - pasta, ice cream, and cheese.

lara bars, whipped cream, GF bread, cookies, brownies, black bean cake, potato broth, chicken stock, vegetable stock, blanched frozen g peppers, 15 jars of marinara sauce...
I am going to make coconut milk next!
@Arden: we have too... but it does take awhile! My mom makes us kefir, and kombucha though!!

Oh that's fancy! I haven't smoked my own meat, but I do almost everything from scratch. Salad dressings, too!
But yeah, not butter, yogurt, mayo, most sauces...too much work and they go bad too fast. I've made my own bread, also...but I don't do that regularly.

We have a smoker too! We didn't build it so that's very cool. We smoke all the time during the summer and we'll probably be smoking our turkey for thanksgiving. We've never made sausage or beer, that's very cool. I make bagels from scratch now because I couldn't get access to good nyc bagels for a while. I always try to make dishes/baked goods from scratch at least once.

We make most of our meals from scratch, but for "big" items I've made pasta and gnocchi from scratch. Oh, and panna cotta! I also made tamales from scratch

Salsa, chili sauce, tomato sauce (I can in the fall). Most of our dinners are scratch, except for pasta, bread and sometimes broth we buy premade for ease.

Post-L, I haven't been cooking much, but when I do, I try to make most of my food from scratch. It's usually pleasantly surprising how easy it is to make things from scratch.

A lot of the same things others have posted but I have to rave that I LOVE our breadmaker. I would never have the patience/timing to make bread "by hand" but having a breadmaker is amazing and I love fresh bread, dough, and rolls!

I make my own chicken stock and I always bake from scratch. I prefer my own tomato sauce too, but we keep a jar of store bought on hand just in case. All other pasta sauces I prefer to make myself. So just the usual stuff I guess.
I want to learn to make my own salsa or jam, but I'd need to learn how to can too.

I think the most exciting thing I made from scratch other than baked goods was Indian naan! That was quite a project. It came out tasting more like a hot pretzel, though. Still yummy.

A huge portion of our food is made from scratch. I just enjoy making things from the ground up. I haven't gotten back into it as much since my son was born, but hopefully once things calm down I can get back at it.
Also, my husband is a hunter, so we process our own meat, grind our own venison burgers, link our own sausage (including Boudin), and make our own jerky. We also do smoked fish for dips.

@alayaya: Not especially. I didn't have a mixer and did it by hand, so my wrist was sore, but with a mixer it would be pretty easy.

@Boogs: since we always have it on hand, i use it in place of water for most everything. charlie and olive also drink it as soup. who knew chicken stock was such a staple.

I'm made dashi from scratch (for miso soup) and furikake, which I'll probably never make again. Chicken stock and vegetable stock, tomato sauce, I make on occasion, but not often. Stinging Nettle soup from our scary weeds! Oooh we made our own Elderberry jam once
DH's made more things, he's the baker in the family.

@Coco Bee: Lara Bars?.... I would LOVE to know how to make these, especially without nuts since I can't have them. They were the only "snack" bar I was able to have until I had to cut nuts. Boo!
@regberadaisy: Since I'm still on my lovely restricted ebf'ing diet I make most of our meals from scratch. Sauces, chicken, soups (most canned soups have wheat in them), etc. For the most part I really like it but some days it gets old cooking all. the. time. lol

I used to live in a small, rural town in South America. I made bagels 1x/month because I missed them, damnit. I hoarded them too. Hell no you can't have one of my bagels. They are mine, mine damnit!

Almost nothing!!! Although ever since I got my kitchenaid mixer I have done most of my baked goods from scratch. Just because it was so easy with the mixer!

We do most things from scratch ... pizza dough, baked goods, sauce, chicken stock, etc.
My husband made Oreos a few weeks ago which were pretty good.

@bree72: so jealous! I was surprised how much I like venison. My husband doesn't hunt but he has friends who do. They'll give him meat in exchange for him making them venison jerky.
