A break from kids and husband. Maybe a weekend or night away with girlfriends or solo? I want to go on one to drink, shop, and eat at a nice restaurants.

I want to go on a momcation by myself! Get a hotel room, a massage, order room service, watch trashy tv, go to bed at 9 and not set an alarm!

@lawbee11: Add soaking in a hot tub to that, and I'd feel like I'd died and gone to heaven.

Momcation is awesome.
I went with two girlfriends (one mom, one single girl), to the mountains. We shopped, sat in the hot tub, went for walks, and most importantly, we ate our meals hot and with nobody on our laps.
Best part is going home.

I totally asked DH to get me a 'momcation' for my birthday this year. I want to go to a nice hotel for two nights completely alone. I can't even imagine how glorious that would be...

Momcation
n.
1. A shower alone.
2. Going to the bathroom without having to have company and/or show the end results to an underage viewer.
3. Having your toddler "read" herself a book long enough to allow you to read at least one full page of your own.
4. When Dad is home.

Am I the only weird one who wouldn't enjoy being by myself at a hotel?
pineapple / 12802 posts
@cmomma17: haha nope. I wouldn't like being alone either. Doing all that WITH a girlfriend or two though? Awesome.

@cmomma17: I don't think I would either!! At home I wouldn't mind I don't think.
My ideal momcation would be a day at home by myself I think, at this point. I'd sleep in, get take out, watch tv, do my nails and take a nap. Maybe I'd leave to have my nails done by a professional... Any longer than a day and I think I'd miss my family too much.

@cmomma17: Nope! I don't even really want to be away from the girls. But boy, oh boy, if Mr. T could be home every day all day for about a whole weekend, it would be SO deluxe! I just like getting little snippets of time here and there where I don't feel like I need to maximize my productivity.
@Running Elley: I make myself go at least once during nap. And it's sooooooo gooooood.

@cmomma17: I wouldn't either. I am alone Mon-Thurs night (R is asleep by 7) and I get BORED. But waking up without an alarm or R waking me up sounds fabulous.

@cmomma17: @Smurfette: I was by myself at a hotel for 2 nights when LO was almost 9 months old (for work) . . . I HATED it. And I didn't sleep in. In fact, I couldn't sleep much longer than 2-3 hours consecutively, tops. I was so happy to get home!
