How do you decide what is from you and what is from the big red guy? DD is 4 now and we have really not made a big deal about Santa at all but she is coming home from preschool talking about him all the time, so I am looking for input.
Just stockings? One big gift? Everything you purchased?

DD is 3.5 and isn't too big into Santa yet and I'm still unsure on how we are handling it. If we do end up doing Santa, the big red guy will bring something small! Why should some fictional guy get the credit for the best gift?!!

I just sorted through the stuff and decided which things were odd shaped and those will go in Santas sack.
he will open gifts from us on Christmas Eve and santa gifts in the morning. Plus stocking.

He specifically asked for an item when he visited Santa, so that's what Santa is bringing him. Everything else is from us.

when i was growing up, it was half and half, so that's what i've been doing.

I plan to do something similar to what my parents did. Santa will fill stockings and bring one special gift. I think receiving one gift from Santa helped me, as a kid, to be gracious and grateful.

Santa is giving her the new baby dolls and her new high chair. Santa gets to give the good stuff.

I am leaning toward stockings being from Santa and one big gift. We are only getting LO a couple things so I think that should work fine. She is getting a ton from extended family and grandparents so it is not like there will be a lot of empty space under the tree!

It's the cheaper, less exciting stuff. Santa never brings a big gift. Those are always from Mom and Dad.

Stockng, the 2 things she specifically asked for, and usually one of the larger presents, like an art easel or plasma car. About 1/3 of the "haul".

Apparently, DH wants everything to be from Santa? I'm used to only one gift from Santa. Last year, we didn't do any from Santa because he was too young.

Agree, that we are focusing the season on a season of giving and mommy and daddy work hard so we can show her our love and give her gifts. But santa loves her too and will bring her something.

Just something small from Santa. I don't want the kids to think that Santa brings big expensive gifts. We also take credit for stockings, but it's usually just small items.

Her stocking and the 3 specific small things she asked Santa for when she met him. Everything else is from us!

LO is getting from Santa a couple of the items that were specifically on her Christmas list and that she told him she wanted when we met Santa:
rings with jewels (set of Frozen rings)

Santa brings one item from the Christmas wish list and his stocking, the remaining come from us (we also do the want, need, wear, read)

Everyone dresses up as Santa here, so I don't even think she knows about the big guy
The teachers at preschool have all dressed up as Santa and so she thinks it's just a costume. I didn't realize it would be so different here (we live abroad). But I'll fill her stockings anyway and say it's from Santa: chocolates, stickers, socks - small stuff.

We/family buy everything then send it all to Santa to check and deliver.

This year it's her stocking, her big gift (glitter glider castle and the magic clip dolls), and a few other little things ( slippers, Doctor kit, and a new book).

Nothing at our house! I don't think she realizes Santa brings presents. We've never mentioned him to her. She must have picked it up at school.

We are doing everything from Santa this year. DH and I both grew up all gifts were from Santa. We will probably do a family gift starting next year.
