Is it possible/reputible to do one online? I just don't want to spend a ton of $$$ since we don't have a lot to put in in, but we want something in writing.

The biggest problem with using forms from online is that they tend to be very general and not state-specific. You can probably find state-specific forms online, but sometimes those aren't so reliable. If there is something wrong with the will that you created yourself using an online resource or with the way that you executed it, it might be unenforceable (which you may not realize until it's too late).
If you go to your local law library, you can look at forms and reference material that is published by reputable sources (e.g., West and/or Lexis in conjunction with your state's bar association). In Seattle, for example, the King County Law Library is located in the same building as the courthouse and is open to the public. It has tons of resources for stuff like this, and the librarians there can help you find good resources for your needs.
ETA: It's always best to work with an attorney licensed to practice in your state.... but if you simply cannot afford to do so, then I recommend doing your own research in your local law library.

That is good info - thanks for being so concise! After reading that I think when the time comes (i.e. when we get pregnant) we'll pay the money to have it written up. It's worth the money I think to make sure it's done right. Thanks again!!
