LO wanted DH to read a cookbook tonight. Just a few recipes. Then they had fun drooling over the pictures.

Hahahaha
We completed our summer reading logs for the library a few weeks ago. As one of the prizes, the girls got to pick a book to keep. My 2.5 year old picked an M&M math book. The book is basically a bunch of word problems for kids already into multiplication and division. She makes me read it every night. lol

I have this Suicide Girl's modern pinup book...basically topless girls with tattoos and piercings. I had to hide the book from her, haha.

Whenever we fly LO insists on reading the emergency instructions herself and having me read them to her. Then she loves to loudly ask and discuss whether our plane might go into the ocean and we would get to go on boats like in the pictures. FX we never sit next to someone with flying anxiety

These are all so funny!!
@yoursilverlining: lol! My daughter does this too. It always makes me laugh but I forget to tell people about it later because I am so busy answering questions about the trip. I don't have to bring as many fun things on the plane bc she entertains herself reading that card for a good twenty minutes.

DH gave me a cookbook for my birthday in which all the recipes feature Nutella in some way. We have never cooked a single recipe but LO loves "reading" it and has basically appropriated it for her own bookshelf. She knows all the names of the fancy cookies!

These are so funny! Lo likes to flip through my academic books and asks me to read them to her but always gets bored after like 2 mins since there are no pictures and they just generally aren't exciting to a 2 year old

When I was pregnant I got for free a baby care book when I bought maternity clothes. Dd found it in a goodwill pile and got obsessed with it. I only read the headings, but it's things like "breastfeeding your baby," "nurse in public." It had accidentally fallen behind the couch at one point, but when it was rediscovered dh told me just to throw it out. Ha'

DD has been obsessed with my baby name book for about a year and a half. She'll "read" it for about 30 minutes.

we don't read them to him but he loves to decipher merchandising items ..
for example: he goes through every vegetable on the hot sauce bottle and dissects what the individual is doing in the picture

My 16mo loves pamphlets and asks me to read all the ones he can find. The strangest one was about the Poison Control Center.

A couple of his stuffed animals had tags with several "pages", like one for washing instructions, another where it was made, another for the serial number, etc. So he thought it was a mini book on the butt of his stuffed annual and I had to read it to him. He asked for it several days in a row.

A book on famous Nobel prize winners. I told DS it was for adults, and he decided I must be hiding something exciting and demanded that I read it anyway. Then he kept complaining that it's taking me too long to finish the whole thing. Good thing it was bedtime, he eventually forgot about it and fell asleep.
