Yeah, plant hanging things.

@mrs.kiwi: I suppose you could put as many that would fit, maybe varying lengths? I've mainly seen just one hanging fern type plant per 'triangle' bracket. Sorry, not very eloquent tonight lol. When we bought our house there were a ton of them inside and outside. I like the ones on the porch but removed the inside ones cuz it just wasn't our style.

@mrs.kiwi: I like the idea of hanging a fruit basket from it.

If you really need to free up space, I'd actually take those things down and install a rod across the top of the window, using legit brackets and anchoring them into either the studs or dry wall. Then, I'd use s-hooks to hang pots and pans from the rod, or something like that. Iv'e seen it in high end décor mags where they do a series of antique copper pots as a window treatment, but this would be more functional.

Alternatively, you can install a shelf above the window and that can be used to store other items.

@Twolittlemen: that makes sense and it looks like one of the kitchen cabinets has water damage, so probably dripping towels.

I would remove them! They just aren't my style.
