I prefer none.
But if I had to choose I would choose condoms. I don't like the way the pill makes me feel.

We've always used pull-out. Worked perfectly for 8 years, and got pregnant the first month we tried (more than once).

I like my IUD because I don't have to give it any thought at all. We don't want to risk a surprise baby, and I don't really trust myself to remember to take a pill every day, or use a condom.

I was happy on the pills. Going fwd tho probably none! Or pill after #2

Infertility. Haha. We apparently shouldn't need anything else...not really a preference but a reality.

None. Now that I've been off the pill for so long I can't imagine going back. I hate condoms. I guess NFP!

I liked the Mirena. Nice not to have to think about anything and I got pregnant quickly after having it removed.

@Leialou: I'm the same. I did not do well on the pill. And I got lots of BV infections. Haven't had one since I went off of the pill years ago. We usually use pull out and so far (6 years together) it has worked.

None. But before I was pregnant I was happy with my fertility monitor + pull n pray during fertile times. (sad that i won't trust this for quite a while until LO is STTN regularly).

I always liked NuvaRing while I was using it, but now that I've been off it for a while I realized that it lowered my sex drive and generally made me less happy/cheerful. So now I would say condoms (no mess for me ) but DH hates them.

Love the pill. I'm going back on it this weekend and very excited about it.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@charmed: Ditto the Nuvaring. I was very even-keel for those years.
@swedishfish: And yes, that too...although we're actually "sub-fertile" so I have a feeling it wouldn't have worked completely predictably over the last 10+ years.

Don't love how the pill screws with my body, but I don't really like condoms either.
If my cycles were perfect, I'd go with charting/NFP. But that won't work for now.

@FliegepilzHut: well, I did get pregnant in January so I guess we are not entirely infertile!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
I'm on the pill now and don't mind it. I actually don't mind condoms either. We double up protection.

i'm on the pill now. i wish there were some other alternative but i'm scared of the iud after hearing so many scary stories about it. we'll just have to take permanent measures....
honeydew / 7230 posts
@swedishfish: @Leialou: Us too, except I am way too scared to rely on that in the future. We will prob use condoms until we take more permanent measures.
pomelo / 5132 posts
@Ash: yea....we're in the YIKES category too!
ETA: we're using nothing currently. I prefer to not be on the pill, DH prefers not to use condoms.

Iud. Don't like hormonal bc and don't trust pull and pray or nfp (my cycle is not predictable)
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
We currently don't...just pull n' pray. I am not a fan of hormonal birth control & DH doesn't like condoms & IUDs scare me.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
We've pretty much only used pull n pray when we actually tried to use birth control but we've been married less than two years and are 10 weeks away from baby 2 so clearly that hasn't worked out too well, haha! We're going to use condors after this baby arrives.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
I don't like how I react to hormonal BC, so I'm done with that...
I'm too scared of pull & pray so condoms it is. As a plus I like that there's no mess.
nectarine / 2272 posts
Pill but that's more for helping with my weight gain/pcos/skin breakouts at this point. I really cant get pregnant naturally.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Pills. I am fine on bc and I don't like my periods and having periods is dangerous for my fertility, so i need SOMETHING
kiwi / 687 posts
FAM/NFP, very happy with it for a million reasons and have never used anything else. We occasionally throw in a condom if we can't handle to abstain during fertile times. Will rely on lactational amenorrhea postpartum as long as we meet the criteria. Also not terribly afraid of a surprise baby, though.
