@deerylou: That's awesome! The program is through UTPB (University of Texas of the Permian Basin), and it's all distance learning. Not the most organized program ever, but I can't complain!
I haven't looked into whether it would really allow me to go into a behavioral therapy setting, but I'm a teacher now and probably will stay a teacher for the forseeable future. I'd eventually possibly like to move into some sort of behavioral position within the schools, though, and I think it would definitely help with that!

Bsc in Accounting & Finance. I chose it as a means to an end, not because I particularly enjoyed it. I was always slightly jealous of those who majored in interesting subjects!

@looch: Interesting. Do you have your PMP? I am currently in a technology office working with project management without much maturity.

@Mrs. Pen: ER/Trauma is amazing. I worked in a Level 1 ER before joining the Navy and loved it!

@T.H.O.U.: I don't...I was in the process of getting the hours together in order to sit for the exam, and then I made the decision to move abroad.
It's on my long list of things to do...eventually. If I don't pursue that, I'd like to get Black Belt certified...I was all ready to start the process for Green Belt certification and then my project was cancelled!

@mrs. wagon: when did you go to school? When I was in college, there was no such thing as an emphasis in digital media. Just curious! (and I feel old just asking that...)

My BS is in biology and MS in international public health & epidemiology. I've changed careers like 4 times since I finished grad school so I'd venture to say now I don't use them.

I have a BA in Communication Arts. My emphasis was in Television Production. I would say my college courses, plus my college experience has gotten me to where I am now. I worked at the college radio station, which got me a job at the local TV station, which catapulted me into the world of TV - which is where I wanted to be! Now I work for a software company that makes software for TV stations. My degree is still working for me!

@mediagirl: he he yes, I'm an oldie like you! It's a great field to be in, as long as you stay on top of your technology! If I weren't a mom I'd totally become a drupal developer!

@Mrs. Pen: I can see ER/Trauma being very emotionally draining with all the accidents coming in and death on your table. Whereas in L&D it is "typically" more happy and positive with new life, etc. Knowing you and your "spirit" I can see ER/Trauma being very draining on you emotionally and spiritually. And you feeling burnt out really soon. Does that make sense?

I am nearly done with my Fine Arts degree. I am reluctant to finish it at this point because with the degree or without my field is the same. Just one way gets me into MORE debt....I will probably finish it though, just because I am so close to the finish.

@MrsScallop: It truly is a lot of fun. My studio emphasis was ceramics, which is completely different than the paint-your-own pottery studio! No matter what kind of ceramics you do, it's a blast!

I spent a couple years with a nonprofit in HIV prevention, and then a couple years in academia on HIV research, and now I work on projects in lots of different (health) fields. I do a lot of work on putting together the statistical analysis sections of proposals and protocols, writing statistical analysis plans, reviewing data and stat output, writing up methods/results, etc. How about you?

@Lozza: That's awesome I worked for a state health dept for almost 10 years doing ID outbreak investigations. Miss it! Now I'm in a completely non-epi position... just needed a change!
