I am a fan of giving out Kit Kats. Oh my gosh, those were my favorite candy growing up!! When someone gave you Kit Kats for Halloween, you walked away from that door happy.
I haven't had them in years but I'm thinking maybe I need to rectify that soon.
What is your go to candy to give out on Halloween?

We do a mix of mini packs of M&Ms, the mixed mini candy bars, and Nerds. We never want to be the house with the gross candy!

This will be our first year passing out candy! I will probably do a mix of Reese's, Kit Kats, and another chocolate bar. Maybe a fruity flavored kind too!

We give out a choice of Snickers, Reese's and something non-chocolate.

We usually get the bags that have an assortment of Reese's, Kit Kat, Hershey's, and Whoppers. I admit I give out the Hershey's and Whoppers first because Reese's and Kit Kat are my fave and if we are going to have leftovers then that's what I want!

Two bowls - one peanut/allergen free, one whatever. The whatever bowl is usually a multipack with Hershey's bars and such.

The nestle pack of mixed mini chocolate bars: kit kat, coffee crisp, smarties, and aero. They were always my fave when I went trick or treating!

I hunt for them at the costcos nearby... they have such a small halloween selection (because of the overwhelming amount of xmas stuff that's out already....) that they can be tough to find.

Last year we handed out mini cans of soda. It was a huge hit as several kids went haywire on our front stoop and declared us "the BEST house in the neighborhood!" With reactions like that how can we resist?

I don't really have a go-to (non-kid-friendly apartments the last few years), but last year my parents gave kids a choice of M&Ms or apples, and they said most took an apple! I was surprised but maybe it's a novelty with candy at every other house.

@Arden: We do two bowls too. There are so many kids who appreciate it plus my husband is crazy allergic to peanuts and he appreciates it. Usually a chocolate mix and then a lollipop bowl is how we go. We live in a great trick or treating area so people from the city come here in huge van-fuls. It is crazy, a friend tried counting one year and was well over two hundred trick or treaters. We limit ourselves to $40 in candy and usually only hand it out for about an hour because it is gone that quickly

We don't get many trick or treaters since we live in a complex. I still get candy, so I can eat it. We stock up on milk duds, caramel apple pops, and rolos.

@brownie: Yup allergen free here too, so we do Dum Dums and something else like Skittles.
