whenever we get the interest deposited quarterly, it's laughable!

@MrsBrewer: Yeah we have our account at a federal credit union, and the rates seem to be a bit better than the average.

CapitalOne online (formerly ING - I use to use them) is 0.75% right now.
CIT, another online bank (I currently use them!), is 0.85% now.

0.1%, 0.6%, and 1.25% - multiples with my credit union.

We use credit unions and get super saver checking. One of my accounts gives 6% and the other gives 4%. Look into your local credit unions for great rates or go to he national association of credit unions online. Mine requires direct deposit and 10 transactions per month. Not very burdensome for a great rate!

We've got pretty good interest rates in Australia - we get just over 4.5% with no restrictions.

We don't have a traditional savings account because rates are so low!
