    @Cherrybee: LOL. Totally agree. When we moved into our house, the owners had a ton of it growing in the backyard. I contemplated burning the garden!

    Not a fan of okra. I need to give beets more of a chance. I actually got some of the candy cane ones this week and am trying to figure out how to prepare them - in a salad or roasted?

    I like pretty much all vegetables, even the ones listed here, but my least favorite is eggplant. I'll still eat it, but I wouldn't ever choose it.

    I pretty much love all veggies. Okra isn't high on the list though.

    Y'all, roasted beets are amazeballs. You are missing out!

    Also, I find the key to most veggie deliciousness is the seasoning.

    I like golden beets but not red beets lol and I loathe Brussels sprouts

    I like brussel sprouts roasted but boiled...oh my. They are so unpleasant both texturally and in taste.

    @Mrs. J: I didn't like beets until I had them in a salad. It was roasted and quite sweet. Yum!

    I can do some okra.

    Do pickles count as a vegetable? I'm not sure there's anything on earth I hate as much as pickles. I consider my food ruined if it comes in contact with one.

    @Anagram: Haha maybe there's hope for us! Although that big picture of beets at the top of the article made me cringe haha.

    Lima beans and peas. They both have this awful dry texture inside. {shudder}

    I hate cauliflower! I'm so surprised to see so many people don't like beets! They're so sweet! I love most vegetables, including bitter melon which is called carilla where I'm from.

    @Leah: to me they aren't sweet at all--they just taste like straight up dirt. But that article I linked said maybe it's a gene, like the people who think cilantro tastes like soap (and incidentally, I love cilantro).

    @Anagram: oh! Very interesting!!

  25. BSB

    @regberadaisy: I was going to say bitter melon, but the one bitter melon dish my mom makes flavors the broth and meat very subtlely that it's actually really good. I wouldn't eat any of the bitter melon, though.

    I haaaaate mushrooms! I don't really think of them as veggies, though. I can't think of any veggies I really don't like... I can't eat cilantro, not even the tiniest leaf. But also not really a veggie, I guess, haha.

    In order to eat raw onions, I have to soak them in ice water or acidulated water for a while, but I do like them once the bite's gone. So I guess my answer is plain raw onions? LOL. I just love vegetables; the thought of disliking vegetables as an entire food group is completely foreign to me.

    Edited to add that now that I think about it, there are quite a few veggies I don't like raw - cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms. But I love them cooked! It's all in the preparation.

    @Mrs. J: I also disliked beets until having them roasted. It's the only way I'll eat them.

    I don't like brussel sprouts. All other veggies are good in my book.
