How long will you wait to eat leftovers? I made spaghetti on Wednesday & am debating weather or not it's still okay to eat?
I usually won't eat leftovers if they are past 2 days. So If I make something Monday & haven't eaten it by Wednesday I throw it out.

I was just thinking about this! I think 3 days is my max. DH will eat crap that is a week old!

I am really picky. If I make something on say a Monday, I will eat it Tuesday and possibly Wednesday depending on what it is but absolutely no longer than that. DH on the other hand will eat it much longer than I would.

I think 3 days too. My husband doesn't care how old it is as long as it doesn't smell. He grosses me out!

@autumnlove: Haha same! I'm usually pretty liberal with it, but especially since being pregnant, I'm trying to stick to a 3 day rule. I've purposely fed stuff to DH that's older though, since I think it will make me sick and he has an iron stomach. Never an issue with him.

OMG I asked DH this yesterday - I brought chicken for lunch today that I cooked 8 days ago. We both decided it was fine. LOL. I haven't eaten it yet....

I'm guessing this will gross a lot of people out then...
I go by the "if it doesn't smell/if it's not growing things" rule. Within reason of course. Something a week old doesn't phase me but I usually don't go beyond that. We also reheat day old coffee which grossed my boss out... I'm still kicking though so how bad can it be?!

depending on the contents, up to a week. i would think spaghetti would be perfectly fine.

I think a week? If it smells fine, then I go ahead and eat it. Now that I'm preggo, maybe I should be more cautious.

hehe... usually around 3 days for us. Wagon Sr. will eat older stuff and just nuke it in the microwave until it's practically exploding, to "kill" anything harmful.

I'm in the 'about a week' club. I do look at it to make sure it looks ok and smells ok.

I'm super picky. 2 days is an absolute cut off, though to be honest, if I make something today, chances are I'm going to eat it tomorrow and that's it. I'm just not a fan of leftovers in general!

Good news is that DH likes to take our leftovers for lunch the next day so we don't have many meals that sit in the fridge. However, sometimes we'll have sides that sit for days because they don't go with anything we cook. So if something's made Monday, Wednesday's the last day I'll eat it, Thursday's the last day it's in the fridge or I'll let DH eat it (because he doesn't care and often asks me if something's still good).

I am very picky too, I give anyone the chance to eat it after 2 days, it goes into the trash! My Dh gets so annoyed with me and thinks I'm the biggest food waster ever! I also throw out lunch meat after 5 days.

About a week, if I cooked it on Monday then it has to either be eaten or moved to the freezer by the following Monday. If it gets forgotten then it gets pitched.

@mrs. wagon: my BIL does this too. My sister tried to explain to him that the microwave doesn't kill things like magic. He literally ate 2 week old carrot cake and just microwaved it first to kill the 'bacteria'.
My cutoff us usually 3-4 days.

Around a week is my cutoff depending on what it is, dh on the other hand is a firm believer in as long as it hasn't developed its own personality/ look angry it is good to go
