I think I'm in the middle too. I keep hand sanitizer in my purse mostly for public transportation-- the poles that you have to hang on to are just gross. That's pretty much the only time I use it. I normally use regular bleach-y cleaners in the bathroom, but I switched to greener ones while pregnant. But I do get squeamish with raw meet and use paper towels and Fantastic for anything it came in contact with (that can't get washed in the sink/dishwasher.)

@Bao: Ew no! Money is so gross! I forgot-- I definitely like to wash my hands after touching money, even if I'm not eating.

probably in the middle. although when the flu or stomach bug hits at school you can bet i will never be too far from the clorox wipes & hand sanitizer. i have been known to wipe down desks in between classes if necessary!

@jhd: I'm with ya on that stomach bug!!

I'm pretty relaxed about germs in every day life, and even reasonably relaxed at school. But if there is nasty stuff going around with the kids I'm wiping down EVERYTHING with clorox wipes.

Oh yeah, I hate touching raw chicken! I always wash my hands afterwards! Almost everything else is fair game, LOL.

In the middle. I just don't wear my shoes in the house, because I don't like wearing shoes. But, with all the animals in the house, I can't be too picky, although I'm cleaning up all the time behind them!

@mrs. 64: that's fair. I once had a student come in to class and said "I have pink eye, but here's my paper." NOPE. You take that paper back, walk right out the door, and email that sucker to me. I definitely left to go wash my hands. And then I used hand sanitizer. Twice.

I am PRO germ exposure for healthy children. My daughter loves to roll around in the mud and eat bugs and all of this. I keep my house very clean, but I don't do chlorox or antibacterials ever.
