We've been watching the NBA finals and every game I look at Hubby and tell him that I'm glad he is not an NBA player. We would love the money, but I'm so glad that he doesn't have that stress and lifestyle that goes along with that or any sports-related job.
What jobs are you glad you don't have?

@Jennimac: My hubs was in the NFL and everyone always thought that must be so cool and glamorous. Yes the money was nice and he is probably the only person our age I know who is already set with a nice pension. But honestly, the lifestyle sucks. You are away from your loved ones all the time and unless you're a big time franchise player you are constantly stressed because you could lose your job at any second with no warning.
I wouldnt want to be any sort of big time celebrity. I would hate to have my private life on display for public consumption.

A nurse. They are so caring and so important yet they get paid squat and have to deal with some pretty gross stuff. I couldn't do it but I have so much respect for them.

@MamaMoose: Wow! I didn't think anyone would respond would actually know what that lifestyle would be like. That's exactly what I thought it would be like.
Also, I told hubby you have to work out ALL the time.

@mediagirl: haha I said a NICU nurse as my dream job : ) In some places nurses actually do make very good money! But I would want to do it because even though it's probably one of the toughest jobs out there is such important work (and selfishly, it must be so so so rewarding to help save little lives!!)

@mediagirl: Yes! I thought about that after I delivered and they had to clean me up and the room. Then, I thought what the room would look like if I had a full term deliver and cringed with the thought. You go into work knowing you are putting fingers and looking up in body parts that really shouldn't be looked at by others.

@mediagirl: maybe we have different ideas about income, but around here nurses make 70-110K, and for a job where you don't need a master's, I think that's pretty good!
I would never want a smelly job- trash, water treatment , nail salon, Yankee candle, all too smelly for me! Also massage therapy, I wouldn't want to have to rub naked people.

@bluestriped bee: ha! I have a sister that's a lawyer and she tells me all the time she could never be a teacher like I am. I honestly think if I wasn't a teacher, I would need to do something where I could show people stuff or something like that because that's just how my personality is.

I'm very thankful that I don't have to do any type of manual labor. Or have any kind of job in sales and/or one that relies on commission.

@Mrs. Bee one summer i was a 'packer' (ie someone who filled the boxes, not moved them) for a moving company...best job EVER. it was like we were given the green-light to snoop on strangers, and let me just tell you--there are some weird folk out there who don't care what you see!!!

Anything in sales, medicine, or law. And teaching in the public school system.
I'd much, much rather have a dirty job with manual labor than a high stress job.
