Been thinking a lot lately about how some industries have strong racial and gender diversity, and others just don't.

Here's my short review of professions I've worked in, in terms of racial and gender diversity:

* Technology isn't particularly racially or gender diverse, in my experience.
* Media has a ton of female writers, but racial diversity tends to depend on the topic being covered.
* Non-profit work is great for gender diversity, but mixed for racial diversity. Again, greatly dependent on the focus of the non-profit.

One of my greatest regrets is that I didn't join the military... a secondary regret is that I didn't become a cop/detective. Both are renown for racial diversity, but not so much for gender diversity.

Is your current (or most recent) industry diverse? How diverse are the various professions/fields you've worked in and/or been interested in?
