If you had a candy bar at your party?
I would go for individually wrapped Lemonheads, Mary Jane Peanut Butter taffys, Reese's PB cups, gumballs and Skittles. Maybe mini Charleston chews?

Oh man, a candy bar sounds amazing to this GD lady, haha.
Your assortment sounds good! Except for gumballs...that sounds like a recipe for disaster, unless you had several trash cans stashed around, lol.

I usually do my candy bars to color coordinate so I try to find licorice, rock candy, gummies and chocolates wrapped in the color I need, plus whatever else I find that goes with the theme.

@LindsayInNY: Good answer for a candy addict! What do you think about pixie sticks? jawbreakers?
@Dandelion: Yeah, I am not sure about gum!

@autumnlove: Well, personally, I love sweets. BUT if you're planning a candy bar, I would go with a mix of packaged/wrapped items for the germaphobes (and I say that in a nice way!) along with unwrapped items. Maybe avoid things that stick together or need to be touched - like Twizzlers (would have to touch unless individually wrapped), Sour Patch Kids. Also, if kids are present, maybe avoid choking hazards like gobstoppers? Are you looking to color coordinate or have any sort of theme?

Sixlets, peanut butter cups/peanut butter M&M's, gummy bears, dove chocolates, Whoppers...

We had one at our wedding. But I would choose Sour Patch Kids, sour jujubes, chocolate covered anything (raisins, nuts, gummies), salt water taffy and those marshmallow bananas.

I ADORE candy. LOL. I have really really been wanting to try UNREAL candy, but I haven't spent enough time looking for it. I will probably just order it online: http://getunreal.com/

@LindsayInNY: No theme for a first bday yet....I need to get on it! Maybe just colors!

@autumnlove: Colors are a theme!! I have no personal candy bar experience, I just like candy. BUT, I would definitely stick with a mix of wrapped/unwrapped (you won't need a ton of scoops that way either!) in the party colors! Do you know what they'll be? Or just colors in general (like rainbow)? I'm living vicariously through you and your candy right now...

@HolisticMama: I've had some of their stuff before! You can find it at CVS and some other stores.

Depends on the theme. For DD's winter one-derland party we had pepperment bark, white chocolate (snow) covered pretzels, marshmallow sticks (north poles), rock candy (icicles), powdered donuts (snowballs). But if there isn't a theme, I'd go for the gummies and sour belts!

Those all sound yummy!
I would choose Cadbury mini eggs, Dinosours, blue whales, and cherry licorice.

@autumnlove: I would stick with pink/red-ish candies with maybe a couple orange candies thrown in, depending on how much of the color you use in the party theme. Ideas: sour watermelons, pink M&Ms, pink lollipops (like Dum Dums), pink nerds, licorice, airheads, jolly ranchers... Trying to think of some chocolate ideas. Since we're near Valentine's Day, now would be a good time to buy pink candies! They should have a ton of wrapped little chocolates and whatnot in pink - like Dove, etc!
